About this cottage rental
Located just off of the patio and carport of the host's "Main House", this "garden" Guest Cottage is situated on 1.7 acre fenced/gated property in Historic Sterling Grove neighborhood near downtown (3 blocks away) Lafayette. Cozy, tastefully appointed and practical, this cottage (central AC/Heat) has 3 bedrooms and one (shower only) bathroom, den space with Table Seating for 4 (additional chairs avail) and slipcovered sectional queen sleeper sofa, fully stocked galley kitchen (with cookware,utensils/basic spices/oils/foil etc), washer/dryer/iron, High speed Wifi , 4 TV's (3 Smart),XBOX 360, separate alarm system. Covered off-street parking avail for one vehicle (addl space is avail but not covered). Guests are welcome to use patio with grill that's situated between cottage and main house, as well as the basketball goal just off the carport and outdoor ping pong table . Formerly a rustic artist studio for previous owner, this cottage, though not historic itself, compliments the 1901 main home which is listed on the Natlional Historic Register, and has been modified to accomodate up to 6 guests ideally, and 8 if using sofa bed in den. New chlorinated swimming pool just steps off of the cottage patio space .

This house is fabulous, from the grounds to the pool to the furnishings. It easily accommodated 11 of us (we also rented the cottage) and was, surprisingly, very quiet. It is an older house, but has been beautifully updated. Bathroom counter space was a challenge and some of the tubs (claw foot) required stepping up, but there is a walk in shower in the master so it was all good. We stayed with 9 folks and two of them being kiddos 1 & 3! It was an absolutely lovely home. We felt safe while staying here. We had the house and cottage and both were so well decorated with plenty of amenities. Plenty of toys to keep kids busy. My daughter was in heaven with all the American Girl doll toys.
There was plenty of space plus some for our families. The house is well decorated and well equipped. We didn’t want for anything. Unfortunately due to rain we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful pool or sitting areas outside. Ashley was a wonderful attentive host.

We were in town for our niece's wedding and this was the perfect place to stay! We were just minutes away from all of the festivities. Ashley is a wonderful host and made everything so easy. Will be staying here again when we come to Lafayette.

We rented Ashley's lovely house for our Daughter's wedding at Maison Mouton and reception held at the John Nickerson House. Ashley was simply amazing as a host and we really appreciated how nice her home and the cottage is designed. We had a full house and full cottage. Everyone absolutely loved the grounds, the houses and location to the venue. Thanks for helping our family make our Wedding weekend a Dream!
