Corner bungalow in large complex has good kitchen, & bedroom curtained from front room to keep in A/C, & a clothes washing machine! Warning b/o very long cycles! Front terrace is excellent for eating outdoors; door open to rear patio makes great cross breeze. Our host Rodrigue was very kind & helpful; in addition to showing all about the bungalow & Tartane Village he showed us the trail to Chateau Dubuque,. Although it was difficult to connect with him because of problems with our US phone. & not having his email, he made us feel welcome. The L’Etang beach is picturesque but rough for our swimming; the young ones being taught to surf really enjoyed it. Weekend, public parties in the large covered space next to the bungalows were crowded & lively. We had 4 lovely days at Rodrigue’s bungalow.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Martinique and the town of Tartane! The generous hospitality extended by our host exceeded our expectations. We were met on arrival by Rodrigue and followed him to the house to get a thorough and informative education about the house, local restaurants, beaches and important places to see during our visit to Martinique. We were able to go sightseeing around the entire Island during our one week visit and always enjoyed returning to our bungalow with the beach a stone's throw away. We were lucky enough to visit during the week of the Carnival and spent an afternoon with Rodrigue enjoying the vibrant and colorful parades that took place all over the Island. We especially enjoyed coffee and breakfast every morning on the covered patio while watching the humming birds pass from flower to flower. The outdoor grill was a must for me and cooked at home most nights if not sampling the local cuisine. The property was cozy well equipped with everything we needed. We enjoy hiking very much and there are so many hiking trails on the Island including The Natural Park of the Caravelle just around corner from our house. A must for hikers is a half day trip up the volcano of Mount Pelée with elevation of 1400 meters/4,582 feet. This hike kicked our butts! My girlfriend and I will return to Martinique and there is no need to look beyond this Bungalow for the perfect spot. We appreciated the gracious hospitality offered to us by Rodrigue as he was always available to us and is considered a true friend! Highly recommend this place for couples or small families. The house was very comfortable and very well equipped including household products. The host was very friendly and attentive and spent time giving us helpful advice about sights to visit and walks to take in the region. The house is just outside of town where there are shops and restaurants. The beach is clean and the water was lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay in Tartane!
