A cozy little property, decorated to perfection and run by incredibly warm and attentive hosts. It felt like home as soon as I walked through the door. The owners have really thought of everything. I stayed for a week to work in the peace and quiet, and also took some time to enjoy the region. I was sad to leave! I will definitely be back.

A professional renovation to an ancient home located in the green and terra cotta colored Burgundy countryside is a place we want to return to. The home is comfortable and cozy and artistically designed. The Scandinavian wood stove provides warmth and atmosphere. The location is perfect for visiting the many charming villages and cities of Burgundy. The restaurant options nearby are amazing! Love the church bells ringing and the cows mooing! An ethereal experience!

This home is well appointed for a comfortable stay. We were there the last week of November and the wood stove kept the home very comfortable on all levels. The kitchen is well equipped as well. Beds are comfy! Linens were especially soft and luxurious. The owners/host both speak English well, and answered our needs immediately! They had GREAT suggestions for the restaurant in Chapaize as well as other things not to miss! The surrounding area is absolutely charming. Church bells and the gentle lowing of Charolais.. the rolling hills, the lovely garden in the back. So much to love, what a lovely time spent. We will most certainly return when our schedule permits. Merci a vous, Christine and Christophe!

A 150 yr old stone, farm cottage that has been tastfully and practically restored. The cottage was clean & well maintained. All the modern amenities are there. The location is in a rural farming area. Very beautiful setting & is close to Cluney, Taize, Tournus, Beaune, Chalon Sur Soane, Beaujolais wine route, historical sites & cycling paths. It is very quiet, peaceful & relaxing. All you hear is farm animals & church bells. Very little car/truck traffic. Christine & Christophe are very friendly, helpful & accomodating. Close to weekly outdoor markets & good restaurants. We would recommend this property highly. We hope to return.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week in this beautiful country cottage and found it to be comfortable and inviting in it's gorgeous setting. Our hosts were warm and very helpful with tips and information on the surrounding area. We felt very much at home and would recommend it for a uniquely French experience and holiday. Thank you Christine and Christophe for sharing your delightful home with us.

We enjoyed a wonderful week here between Christmas and New Year. The house was very comfortable, warm and cosy with the woodburner, well-equipped and stylishly decorated. Our hosts were welcoming and very helpful. We loved it and hope to visit again in the Summertime.

Christophe and Christine were the perfect hosts for a week in Burgundy. They were available for us to call during our entire stay so we could ask questions about the area, sites, and restaurants. We needed to get away from the city life for a bit and this was the right choice.
We arrived in autumn with plans to explore the Burgundian food, wine, and culture. Burgundy was ripe with the scenes and scents of fall. During this trip, we discovered stellar Chardonnays of Puligny-Montrachet, Epoisses cheese, and patisserie shops. The cottage is in a central location south of Dijon / Beaune and north of Lyon. Christophe was correct saying that it would be easy to keep busy for a week within a few kilometers of the cottage. We took that advice and found the cottage was perfect for local sight seeing as well as extended day trips.
The cottage kitchen was ample for making coffee, breakfast, and evening market vegetable soup. We'd spend the days exploring and return home to enjoy saucisson, fromage, jambon, moutarde, vin rouge, and the other culinary finds that are easy to stumble upon in the countryside. We appreciated the herbs and vegetables that grew on the property as they provided a very local culinary experience. After it got dark, the fire would be lit and we'd enjoy Marc de Bourgogne before retiring to a crackling fire in the iron stove.
Christophe and Christine have a list of accomodating restaurant recommendations ready for you. Even though our French language skills are basic, we felt welcomed when we called or emailed for reservations. One morning, we headed up to the Sunday Chagny market. The town was full of life and the fondue lunch at Le Grenier a Sel was what we needed after hitting the market hard. One of the highlight lunches was the nearby Michelin star Grueze in Tournus. They made a stellar meringue with an creamy yolk center and served it with escargots and a champignon sauce that was beyond fabulous.
The cottage was more than enough room for two of us. The cottage could have easily accomdated another couple or kids comfortably. We hope that you enjoy the cottage as much as we did.

Charming character cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained as the owners live in the adjacent property. As there was no restaurant within walking distance we tended to eat out at lunchtimes and have our evening meal in the garden of the cottage. We used the bicycles to explore the surrounding area, as well as visiting nearby attractions, such as the chateau of Cormatin by car. We also enjoyed visits to the abbey at Cluny, the markets at Chalon sur Saone and Tournus, and further north to Beaune. Monsieur and Madame Branche were very kind and informative. We really appreciated their suggestions for places to visit on our way back to the airport - the abbey at Brou and the village of Perouges were both well worth stopping off at.
