A Different Kind of Vacation Rental—Tradition Meets Modernity
"Holzer 2.0" invites you to relax in its newly built addition.
You’ll find a modern ambiance featuring concrete, wood, and plenty of glass. The front main house, built in 1851 following the “Schrofensturz” landslide, is one of the oldest farmhouses in Brannenburg.
Our three vacation rentals offer the highest level of comfort and high-quality amenities, as well as an unobstructed view of the Wendelstein region and its surrounding mountain range. Our garden also offers plenty of activities for our younger guests.
Each vacation rental has a separate entrance. Sulzberg Vacation Rental (first floor): small terrace, parking spot next to the house. Wildalpjoch Vacation Rental (upper floor, covered walkway): balcony, parking spot next to the house. Riesenkopf Vacation Rental (upper floor, covered walkway): balcony, parking space next to the house.
“Wildalpjoch” Vacation Rental, loft apartment approx. 80 square meters on the upper floor. The loft apartment, furnished with great attention to design, is suitable for 2–4 people and offers the highest level of comfort with its high-quality kitchen appliances (including an induction cooktop, dishwasher, and Bora range hood), as well as the bathroom amenities (automatic sensor-activated faucet and rain shower), it offers the highest level of comfort. Through the open loft, you’ll reach the sleeping area (180-cm bed) with mountain views to the south and west, as well as another separate sleeping area (160-cm bed) where you can enjoy the perfect vacation atmosphere. From the spacious south-facing balcony, you can let your gaze wander over the surrounding mountains. Our orchard also invites you to linger. From the bay window, you can watch the ducks or simply read.
Our house is centrally located in the town of Brannenburg, about a 5–10-minute walk to the Wendelsteinbahn valley station, about a 10-minute walk to downtown Brannenburg, and about a 15-minute walk to the Brannenburg train station for city trips to Rosenheim, Munich, Kufstein, Innsbruck, or Salzburg, or to nearby Chiemgau with its famous “Bavarian Sea.” If you’re arriving by train, we’ll gladly pick you up by car from the Brannenburg train station. Erl (Austria), home to its famous festival, is just a 30-minute drive away. Numerous hikes and mountain bike tours can be started right from here. In winter, the family-friendly Sudelfeld area (about a 20-minute drive) is perfect for alpine skiing, but you’ll also find a variety of ski tours, tobogganing, and snowshoeing there!
Your five-member host family lives in the front, older part of the farmhouse, known locally as “Holzer.” “Guest rooms with a family atmosphere” were already being rented out here as far back as the 1980s. Now there’s a new version—the “Holzer 2.0”—and we look forward to your visit!
