Come spend your vacation at Captain Jay's Castle on a private, always deep water Lake Travis cove with amazing sunsets year-round ! Lake Travis is not a constant level lake therefore the private floating dock is moved according to lake levels and accessing lake may be more challenging when water is lower but cove is always deep and swimmable! Accessibility may be difficult for young children and those with mobility issues. It’s great for fossil hunting!
Our private dock has a pontoon boat and jet ski for rent (lowest price and best maintained in area) and is well lit at night to enjoy sitting right on the water. Kayaks, paddle boards, and other water toys are available to enjoy at no extra charge. The cove is a local popular fishing spot so anglers bring your gear.
The Castle has 3 large bedrooms with in suite bathrooms, a 1/2 bath downstairs as well as an open sleeping area upstairs with a trundle and full sized bed.
Bedrooms: King-downstairs, 2 bedrooms upstairs- one with queen and one with 2 queens. In keeping with the uniqueness of this home, there are 2 walk-in closets with bunkbeds and pocket doors for extra sleeping. Air mattresses also available for larger parties.
Our per night pricing is for 8 guests, additional overnight guests will be charged 50.00 per night.
We love well behaved pets but there will be charge a 50.00 per pet, per visit.
Our 2.75 acre lot has plenty of room to roam. There is a beautiful large stone patio with fire pit to entertain or just relax at sunset. There are two large decks as well as a rooftop to enjoy dinner and lake and sunset views.
Our property is Wildlife Certified; many beautiful water and land birds to observe as well as country critters so please do not leave food out at night and bring appropriate footwear.
Responsible parties are welcome. We take great pride in keeping the grounds and house clean and we ask our guest to do the same upon their departure. Removing sheets and towels and placed in the laundry room is much appreciated.
Day Use: for additional guests accessing the property but not staying over there will be an extra $10.00 per person charge. For security and liability we must be informed of any extra guests on the property.
We like to greet our guests and provide a tour of the house and grounds upon arrival. Owner lives on the property in a separate house with several small dogs. While we will not disturb our guests, we do make ourselves available 24hrs if our guests need help or have any questions. There is a tenant downstairs, Chico, who has a boating excursion business who you may see coming and going and also helps with guests when needed.
There are plenty of paper products and games along with full washer and dryer in laundry room, as well as extra beach towels and sunscreen. Kitchen is stocked with spices and condiments, dishes, utensils, cups, and coffee pots (one is Keurig - bring your own pods). We have three fire pits, Large Life Tyme BBQ Smoker (vertical stack), and two gas propane grills as well as some charcoal grills.
There is a 90" TV in living room with plenty of streaming services and high-speed WiFi
We are located directly across Starnes Island, close to VIP Marina and Volente Water Park & Beachside Billy’s. party boats available at the Marina with easy boat loading access. Listen to live music Friday and Saturday nights coming from Beachside Billy's or take a stroll over for dinner and music. We are only 10 minutes from The Oasis restaurant, 20 minutes to Lakeway & Mansfield Dam, and less than an hour to downtown Austin, Uber is available.
In the event we have a quick turn around, extra cleaning fees might be applied if castle is not picked up properly.
