Located above the historical Harigle Garage built in 1912, this 2 bedroom condominium is the perfect location for any adventure in the Wayne National Forest. Currently under construction on the main floor is the Black Diamond Brewery and Distillery scheduled to open in late summer 2021. Step out the front door into the architecture that will bring you back into the 1880's and the glory days when coal was king in Southeast Ohio. Hit the Black Diamond Tavern after your adventure on the Buckeye Trail.

No communication from just about check in. Would not answer messages or phone calls. Had to find another place to stay in the middle of nowhere at 8:00 at night. At least the corporate office refunded our stay.

The directions were a bit confusing. We went to the wrong door. Also we could not get the door to lock when we would leave the property. We were told it would automatically lock but it never did. The gentleman we were dealing with was very nice. I believe the building needs an exterminator as well.

We loved everything about our stay! I’ve wanted to visit Shawnee for a while, when I saw this location on Vrbo, we immediately booked it for our girls getaway. The manager Amanda at the Black Diamond Tavern was very welcoming and helpful. Wing night was yummy and fun. The towns people are very friendly. Brett was very quick to respond and very helpful. Definitely a 10 out of 10 awesome experience for us! :)

We did have some issues with the house, nothing that us or the owner wasn't trying to solve.

What an experience. I’m giving five stars for everything and I will explain:
The condo is in a good location to access numerous parks. I found this completely by accident, I had intended on staying in Hocking Hills. We walked to Wayne National Forest from the condo. We spent time at hocking hills, hiking to all the spots. It’s about a 30-40 min drive. We also spent time in Athens & Lancaster.
The condo was clean, remodeled with a few quirks. Based on the opera house in town being built in 1881, I am assuming the condo was also built over 100 years ago. Quirky goes hand in hand.
The town is being revitalized and I could not help but be happy to contribute my time and money to this small town in Ohio. If you Google or YouTube this town, the history associated is remarkable. If you are looking to be apart of history, supporting the creation of local jobs and restoring history, I would recommend.
Bret is very responsive. He checked in to make sure all was well. And anytime I reached out, he messaged very quickly. The Black Diamond Tavern is very walkable, like directly next door. Hands down best small town bar/tavern. We ate dinner there three times. Food was great, prices were very reasonable, and music trivia was so fun!
The condo was very reasonably priced, I felt like I paid appropriately (didn’t over or under pay).
I am excited to follow the progress of this small town and look forward to seeing all that is accomplished in months and years ahead.

We flew out from Los Angeles to stay with family for Christmas. The family home was a little crowded so we opted to look for a nearby lodging option. I didn’t know what to expect but the place ended up being great. Lots of space. Great and easy instructions for the internet/check-in/check-out procedures. I look forward to staying here next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Shawnee, and without a doubt, we’ll be back! The owner was very accommodating and communicated with us whenever we had a question. Also, loved the Tavern that’s close by! They had music, and it was a lot of fun!

3 day weekend getaway. Property was very well equipped making it feel like a home during visit rather then a typical rental. Unique in style and location. Enjoyed it immensely

We stayed here two nights over the weekend. When returning from our horseback riding we had a giant camper backed in literally right outside our window and entrance. There are ZERO window coverings here and the owner had the people there as part of Harvest Host which was never disclosed. We felt like we had zero privacy (which was the entire point of our trip) and ended up leaving early. The location was oversold a little. The only thing to do in the little town is go to their bar and apparently stare at campers. I would have never picked this location had I know we’d be sharing space. Would’ve rather got a cabin.

Beautiful and large apartment in Shawnee. We walked the town and had dinner at the Black Diamond bar. Live entertainment, Randy Gleason (I think) was EXTREMELY TALENTED. Nice hub for Hocking Hills and surrounding area.

Don't be fooled by the area surrounding this property - it's an old mining town that has been neglected but is being revitalized. When you open the door to the condo you'll be pleasantly surprised! It's spacious and beautifully remodeled. We were looking for privacy and quiet, and we found it. We were looking to not spend a ton of money on expensive hotels (willing to make some of our own meals), and this was perfect! We were looking for an area with interesting history and nearby attractions, and this fit that bill too. The condo was also very clean (kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms) except for these two items: the floor could have been cleaner, and there was a huge spider web in one of the windows.
Things that are minor but would make the condo perfect would be window coverings in the front windows; towel bars, a hook, and a small bench in the bathroom; a decent skillet and medium sized saucepan in the kitchen. And the condo can sleep 6, but there were dishes for only 4.

I liked that they left the brick wall when they renovated the property. The beds were comfortable and it was very spacious. The only thing I'd suggest was a towel hook for drying bath towels in the bathroom and one for holding a hand towel. We jad on site laundry which was very nice. It's about 40 minutes from.most areas in Hocking Hills. Do the local tour with the guide they suggest to learm the history of Shawnee. That was interesting.
