Inside, Sugar Bird Rest is decorated with relaxing shades of ocean blue colors and local art work of the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The kitchen is fully stocked for your family's culinary use affords easy preparation of casual and formal meals. (Dishwasher for clean up.) Outside Sugar Bird features immediate access to the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea, which lap gently onto the Carina Bay shoreline just 50 feet away from this beachfront villa. Snorkel to Carina Bay’s own barrier reef which comes all the way into the shoreline just west of the house.
The beachfront veranda is the perfect place for morning coffee watching the sun rise or an evening meal. While enjoying the ocean breeze, you can watch the pelicans dive for fish or an occasional lime green iguana climbing a coconut tree. It is also interesting to watch the fishermen.
Enjoy snorkeling in the warm but cooling Caribbean Ocean and observing the ocean creatures up close. There is also a dive shop on the Boardwalk for diving classes and supplies, along with several fishing charters available on the island. St. Croix is great to experience fresh Caribbean lobster, red snapper and mahi mahi.

You may never want to leave this home once you arrive at Sugar Bird…but if you do, you can spend days exploring St. Croix’s historic towns and sites. You can shop in an array of exquisite local shops featuring the work of local artisans or duty-free items from around the globe.
The Boardwalk is also a favorite place to walk, eat, drink, enjoy the night life, and of course shopping. Favorite restaurants include: The Landing Beach Bar at Cane Bay, The Bombay Club, Duggan's Reef, Blue Water Terrace, La Reine Chicken Shack, Blues' Backyard BBQ, Island Vybz Grill, Brew STX, Shupes on the Boardwalk, The Mill Boardwalk Bar Brick Pizza, Cheeseburger in Paradise and so many others to explore. (It is advised to call first to check on hours or operation and/ or make a reservation during high tourist season.)
You can golf on one of the island’s three 18-hole courses Buccaneer Golf course, Reef Golf course or Carambola Golf course. Fine and casual dining opportunities abound on the island along with casual beach bars where you can relax and gaze at the ocean. Explore the island’s rainforests, other public and private beaches, and snorkeling spots. Three National Parks, a National Forest, and other national points of interest are on St. Croix. Have a sailing and snorkeling adventure to Buck Island National Park with its fabulous beaches and reefs. Stand on the spot where Christopher Columbus landed on his second trip to America in 1493 …and then take a sea kayak trip through the Mangrove coves of Salt River National Park. The outdoor opportunities are endless…. The most stunning feature of the house after the beach and stunning Carribean views is the 50 foot gallery/ veranda overlooking the sea down the stairs and just 50 steps away.
