Located approximately 2 hours from Chicago this home is nestled on over an acre of wooded land with a 70 ft private beach, semi-private tennis courts. You'll find plenty to do in this classic Lake Michigan house. Enjoy waking up each morning to the smell of fresh air, green grass, crisp leaves and the lake: take a long walk on the beach, relax on the screened in porch, play a round of tennis or cool off in the water; your evening can be filled with BBQing , smores at the beach, star gazing and laughing with friends and family.
This home has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living space complete with gas fireplace, a dining room, multiple large picture windows, a large sun deck and a breezy screened-in porch which is a great spot to relax with shade and fresh air. Located just 10 minutes from Saugatuck/Douglass were you can enjoy downtown shopping, explore a variety of dining options, drive stunning golf courses, blueberry/strawberry/apple/pumpkin picking, explore the many cideries/breweries/wineries, hike the dunes or take a dune ride, create a masterpiece at the Art Barn, and in the winter this home is just 40 minutes away from Bittersweet Ski Resort.

This was one of the better vacation rentals I have stayed in. The layout is great for groups and the property is incredible. Huge lawn, spacious deck, comfy screened porch, and a beautiful beach. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were a good size. AC worked great on some 80 degree days. Made me want to come back to west Michigan. There was a good variety of cooking utensils and dish-ware, but there wasn’t much by way of ingredients. That was totally fine though because there’s a Meijer less than 20 minutes away so we were able to grill multiple evenings.

Location - property location was excellent, close proximity to the beach, can see the sunset from the deck. The beach was a bit rocky, so would recommend bringing water shoes if you plan on swimming.
Check-in process - the host was flexible and let us check in early, but was just given a code to the door, and got no directions on how to get there. We went down the wrong road initially per google maps. Upon check-in - there was a one page document with places to eat, and the wifi password, no other details about the property or the area were provided.
Communication with property manager was excellent before the stay, quick responses and very flexible. After the stay I reached out 13 days ago, and have not received a response.
Cleanliness - to me this seemed like a typical family beach home that is not occupied most of the time (marks on the walls, musty smell in the basement, wires hanging out of the ceiling where lights use to be, holes in the screen in the screened in porch). It is at the end of the rental season, so I am sure that something to do with it. We did encounter a couple mice during the stay, which I am sure is common for for this kind of home, but was a first for me at a rental property.
Connectivity - the entire group got spotty cell service at best which would have been good to know this going into it - YMMV. Wifi is provided but coverage throughout the home, including the main tv for streaming, is also spotty at best.
