About this house rental
The Bird's Nest is located in a peaceful neighborhood that is surrounded by lush greenery and bird songs can be heard throughout the day & tree frogs at night. The house has 2 levels. The 2nd level sits high above the ground which makes it feel as if you are staying in a tree house. The ground level has a 2nd living room & full bathroom. There is also a twin day bed & trundle for when there are more than 4 guests to spread out. The road in front of the home is paved and available for walks or runs. We are located about 4 miles from a couple of beautiful hikes to either a black and white sandy beach or tide pools.
We are located about 15 minutes from Hilo, 5 miles from Pahoa and 4 miles from the ocean and sea cliffs to walk along. Volcano National Park is about a 30 minute drive and we are about a 1 1/2 hour drive over Saddle Road to white sandy beaches.

The Bird House was comfortable and felt like coming home. The fresh breeze kept the house cool without an A/C so you have to leave the windows open all the time. The birds can be a bit noisy in the morning and wake you up a bit early if you’re light sleepers like us, but earplugs are provided ( I saw some under the bathroom sink). We brought our own earplugs. The location was perfect for us visiting Volcano and Hilo. The beds were comfortable although the sofa cushions in the living room are a bit worn and troubled my sciatica. The bathrooms were updated and spacious but the second one was inconvenient at times being on the ground floor. Overall the place was great and clean and we would definitely recommend it to people.

The Birds Nest was a great stay. The check-in process was seamless and due to our late arrival, the hosts were very gracious and left lights on AND sourdough muffins. The home is clean, very inviting and great combo of in and outdoor spaces.

I had a very short stay at the Birds Nest - but and I loved it. The space was soothing and lovely, private and very very clean. It’s in a great location to get everywhere. And thoughtfully designed! Loved the big sprawling deck in the back! I would definitely stay here again!
