About this house rental

Come relax at our charming, newly renovated home built in the 1930's. This peaceful, well-designed retreat under live oaks has all the charm of the old but with all the upgraded, desirable features: large kitchen, open floor plan, brand new hardwood floors through out, and large master suite. A spacious deck featuring a large live oak providing a canopy over the serene half acre lot. Walking distance to many restaurants/bars, movie theatre, and minutes from downtown Charleston and Folly Beach.
The space
A large open kitchen provides the space for many to enjoy the fun of cooking together. For those that prefer to watch the cooks, there's a large bar that looks over the kitchen. The home has an open floor plan so just behind the bar is the dining room offering a variety of spots for all to eat together. Off the dining room is large living room offering two couches and a recliner. There is also a spot next to the large bay window that makes the perfect reading nook! We have three queen sized bedrooms with dressers and ample closet space. The master suite features a tray ceiling and a large TV on the wall. The master bath offers a walk in closet, a large vanity with two sinks and an alcove. There is a half bath just off the hallway next to the laundry room.
Guest access
The property sits on a large half acre lot. In the back of the property is our sister Airbnb: Coastal Cottage. It features a quaint one bedroom bungalow. Guests of Coastal Cottage are at the back of the property and park directly in front of the home. Guests at Live Oak Retreat have ample parking space along the left side of the driveaway and along the side of the deck and carport. The right side of the driveway needs to remain open so Coastal Cottage guests can access their home. We have never had any issues with parking but want to make sure all guests are aware of how to share the parking space.

- Only five minutes from two public boat landings

- Just minutes from downtown Charleston and Folly Beach!

- Only one mile to James Island County Park which offers extensive walking/biking trails, playgrounds, splash pads, climbing and the only dog park on the island.

- Only one mile to James Island Shopping Center that includes: Harris Teeter, Starbucks, CVS, Maple Street Biscuit Company, Muddy Waters (local coffee shop), My Father's Moustache (English pub), Barberitos (Southwest), Athens (Greek), Pilates gym, Liquor store, and nail salon.

Lovely the property. We loved the location and the convenience to both Charleston and to Folly Island beaches at about 15min to either place.The house was very spacious. A nice deck on the back of the house would definitely be enjoyable at the right time of year. Would absolutely stay here again.

The house was clean, well supplied and in a quiet working neighborhood. The Whole Foods Market was nearby. There are restaurants within walking distance, if you wanted to walk. The main roads have sidewalks,and the side road the house is on doesn't have sidewalks, but it is a straight road so you can see traffic coming if you are walking on the side of the road facing on coming traffic. The yard was well maintained and street number was visible on the house.

It’s not too often I leave a review, but this place was great. The house was very clean, kitchen had all the pots/pans etc you need to cook. The neighborhood was not questionable at all, felt very safe having our three daughters with us. Additionally the house is was located perfectly to get anywhere within 15/20 minutes. Would definitely recommend this property.

The property is excellent, everything we needed and convenient location. The history and ambience are very inviting and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again when in the area, highly recommended.
