Enjoy a wonderful, low cost, Puerto Rico, vacation rental at our "House in the Hills" (Casa de Loma) on the beautiful East Coast of Puerto Rico. Located near Humacao, our three bedroom vacation rental accommodates parties of up to 8 adults in comfortable beds (no futons or sofa beds) with two port-a-cribs for two tots. The large private swimming pool is set in a garden courtyard, offering privacy in a beautiful setting. Spend all day by the pool or travel the island to see its many sites and lovely beaches. The interior of Casa de Loma was recently redecorated to reflect the architecture of historic Puerto Rico. Throughout our three bedroom home, a motif of archways was used in combination with Caribbean colors to create an inviting and relaxing feel in every room. A large, gracious porch provides a shady retreat all day and allows dining with a view. Two large tiled bathrooms are equipped with modern fixtures and showers. In the comfortable well-ventilated bedrooms, all beds are new and each room has its own ceiling fan. The house has ample parking, an emergency water supply, and a large yard with citrus, palm and flowering trees.
The comfortable living room with white archways surrounded by faux stucco finish reflects the architecture of old San Juan. A full sofa and love seat, with colorful wicker side chairs can easily be arranged to comfortably seat up to 8. A TV with Cable Service offers many English and Spanish stations. Ceiling fans are all provided for your enjoyment. Bring your devices; there is a WiFi internet connection usable in any room of the house.
There is a full working kitchen and a laundry area. The kitchen includes a breakfast nook with a marble top table. Kitchen appliances include: electric cook-top range, double door refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, toaster oven, blender, and coffee maker. Complete cookware and dinnerware for eight are included. A small picnic cooler is provided for day trips.
The master bedroom features a queen-size bed, a large six drawer dresser, and large tiled bathroom with a shower. A day and trundle bed allows 4 to sleep comfortably in the master bedroom. A second bathroom serves the two additional bedrooms. One of these bedrooms has two twin beds and walls decorated in "Hibiscus" pink. The other bedroom is painted in a bright, "Caribbean Sea" blue and features a double bed and windows on two walls.
A full-size dining area includes a table for six with comfortable chairs so that you can relax over a leisurely meal. The front porch overlooks the hills of Las Piedras, providing a quiet place to read and relax. Views of the yard include many flowering shrubs, banana trees that you are welcome to pick from, and an array of palms. The porch has an area that is large enough for dining. We often dine on the porch to view the pleasant pastoral setting and to enjoy the evening breezes.
Casa de Loma, is in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. Las Piedras is a suburban community high in the hills just west of Humacao. The house is a 45 minute drive from Puerto Rico's Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan. It is situated more than 1000 feet above sea level, overlooking striking vistas, including rugged mountain ridges, pasture lands and neighborhoods of Caribbean/Spanish architecture. The vacation rental surroundings are lush, verdant and tropical. Palms, citrus trees and yucca plants abide. Flowering bougainvillea, poinsettia, flamboyant and hibiscus color the hillsides. On a clear morning, as you descend the hill to town, your views will include spectacular vistas of the El Yunque Rainforest summits. This house was clean and well kept in a nice neighborhood. There were plenty of pool accessories and extra towels for taking to the beach. It was well stocked with supplies and the A/C worked great although you could leave the windows open all day because the weather is so beautiful! The covered patio is so peaceful at any time of the day.The property manager and his wife live next door and were so sweet and responded quickly to any questions we had. The house is just a few minutes outside Las Piedras which is large enough to have a decent sized grocery store (Ralph's), fast food places, and unique local restaurants. (Our favorite was Kingdom Cafe - fresh bread, fresh donuts, and delicious sandwiches!) The house is within an hour of all the adventures we tried during our stay. Overall, a great pick! The only caveat is that you have to drive to get anywhere, and driving in Puerto Rico is it's own adventure! The rules of the road don't seem to apply and the roads that aren't main highways are narrow and curvy with steep grades, including the road out of town to the property. We are an adventurous family so it didn't deter our plans, but if you don't like stressful driving you'd be better off taking a shuttle straight from the airport to a resort and only going on guided tours with transportation provided. We had a great time though and would definitely recommend this property.

Great 4-generations 6 adult girls’ first time to Puerto Rico trip! Home was wonderful in a lovely area with plenty of space, comfy beds, working ACs, great outdoor areas and pool. Watching all the fireworks on all sides of us while by the pool for the New Year was magical!Go to Guayaba Tostada Pastry & Coffee House for breakfast/brunch — great coffee and yummy food that is all homemade!!Only downside was trying to find it for first time in the dark at 10p and took hours to get in touch with Tania for exact location and info to get into the house. We were almost about to give up and find other accommodations for the night when she finally called. After that scare, communication was wonderful! Also recommend showers in evening as in morning/during day the water did not get terribly warm. Definitely recommend renting a Jeep for traveling all over PR like we did & highly recommend BeepBeepJeep!! So much to see and do a week was not enough.Book this rental!!!!

This was a great trip! Finding the home was a little tricky but thankfully some wonderful locals were able to assist and our host Tania was easily accessible by phone when we had a question. The house had everything we needed for a family of all ages. It was in a great location as we were in town for a family quince in San Lorenzo. We’d definitely book again if we have another gathering in San Lorenzo. Thank you Tania for opening your home to our family!

In my opinion I think they can make improvements for customers. What is it like to have drinking water, toilet paper, some kitchen utensils? also make sure that the maintenance of the pool. since my daughters tested positive for strep. the space and house is very comfortable the neighborhood and the neighbors were good. cleanliness was good. only those details that in my opinion are very important.
