A spectacular rural location, with the convenience of local facilities plus easy access to the Peak District National Park and Alton Towers.. 1 step to entrance.

Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Enclosed private, south-facing patio with with sitting-out area, garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There are steps from the parking space.. Set in around 12 acres of woodland, this is real country living at its best, but with the convenience of local facilities nearby. Both properties have wood burners taking pride of place for cosy winter months, and for the long summer days the gardens are perfect for simply soaking up the peace and quiet. You’ll find a selection of food serving pubs and a local convenience store less than a mile away with the villages of Endon and Stockton Brook easily accessible. Lovely walks are available from the doorstep and access is available to the adjacent field. Please bring suitable footwear some areas may be muddy! Please note that the return walk back is up a steep climb! Further afield the market town of Leek can be reached in a 15-minute drive and offers a lot including a wealth of high street shops and eateries.
The Caldon canal runs close by so is perfect for waterside walks and cycles with maybe a spot of lunch at one of the canal-side pubs on the way. There’s also Rudyard Lake for some water-based activities surrounded by some of the most dramatic scenery to be found in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Thrill-seekers mustn’t miss Britain’s premier theme park Alton Towers which is just a 30-minute drive away, and the location is also just a few miles southwest of the magnificent Peak District National Park. The position is excellent for exploring Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire and is also just 40 minutes from the fascinating market town of Ashbourne with its abundance of eateries and renowned antique shops.

This is the perfect cottage to relax and enjoy its peaceful location. Ade and Carolyn go the extra mile to ensure your holiday goes without a hitch and are always available for any advice. Dogs are welcomed with open arms, and the adjacent field is perfect for walks, as are the many public footpaths close by, and the canal at the bottom of the hill provides pleasant walks to dog friendly pubs. Yes, the access road is steep and narrow, but we had no problems with it at all. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We absolutely loved our stay at tranquility, we wanted to take the dog somewhere nice and quiet because she can be quite reactive and this was just the place! Hosts were amazing! Location was perfect. We will definitely be back. Cottage has everything you need. The dog also approved as she has never been so quiet!

We loved our week’s stay at Tranquility.The accommodation is really clean and comfortable and the location is very quiet and relaxing. Carolyn and Ade are great hosts, not intrusive but they are helpful with lots of information should you need it. There are amazing walks from the doorstep and great places to visit locally. We will definitely be returning to explore more of this beautiful part of the world.

We received a warm welcome from the hosts and a welcome pack of goodies. The accommodation is in a lovely and remote location and was recently converted from a farm building so is well insulated. There are nice views and walks in the vicinity as well as a few country pus nearby and easy access to the peak district. Recommended
