A characterful thatched cottage in the heart of the idyllic village of Croyde, this charming property makes a fabulous retreat for groups of friends and larger families seeking an idyllic holiday home. Perfect for exploring the gorgeous coast of North Devon, the Grade II-listed house dates back to the 16th century and has a wealth of original features including an impressive oak front door, exposed stonework, timber beams, a wooden pew and slate flooring. Offering beautiful accommodation for up to eight guests, this sympathetically updated cottage has been tastefully furnished and elegantly decorated, and is within easy reach of Croyde Beach.
Entering the cottage via the main porch, the oak front door leads into the hallway with slate flooring, then through to a delightful lounge with an impressive inglenook fireplace and French doors leading to the garden. The characterful kitchen/diner features slate tiling, plenty of equipment and a large inglenook housing an old wooden pew, providing a wonderful space for sitting together for a celebratory meal. The ground floor also features a shower room and the first of the property’s four cosy, relaxing bedrooms: a bright and airy twin / super-king-size room. Upstairs, you will find the stylish family bathroom and three further bedrooms: two cheerful doubles and a lovely twin. Outside, the generous garden is enclosed and bordered by shrubs and hedges, with a charming patio area and outdoor furniture, offering a sweet and cheerful spot for dining alfresco.
Croyde is famous for its beautiful sandy beach, popular with surfers, and making a great base for walkers heading to Baggy Point (3 miles) and Morte Point (6 miles) along the South West Coast Path. Other nearby attractions include Watermouth Castle, Saunton Sands, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, and the friendly seaside town of Ilfracombe, all within 15 miles.
