About this cottage rental

Set is the beautiful countryside of the Southern Indre bordering the department of the Creuse, Gite De La Foret is located within the grounds of the owners home and is surrounded by lawns and flower borders

Situated in the hamlet of La Foret close to Saint- Plantaire and close to the inland lakes of the market towns of Eguzon and the rivers of Crozant , Gite De La Foret comfortably offers 3 bedrooms, one ensuite, a further double room and another with 2 single beds. There is also a cot available.
The gite has an open feel with a fully equipped kitchen along with a sitting and dining area. It is equipped with central heating for those chillier nights.

There is little light pollution so at night, the sky is filled with stars allowing star gazers to view far away constellations. The night skies during August are wonderful. The Perseid meteor shower is active between 17 July and 24 August, with the number of meteors increasing every night until it reaches a peak in mid-August, after which it will tail off. In 2020, the peak falls on the night of the 12th and before dawn on 13 August.

There is a dipping/splash pool in the garden along with garden games such as badminton nets, boules and racket ball. Indoors there are plenty of children's games to occupy them.

Locally and within a 10 minute drive, there are plenty of places to visit including watersports at the Lac de Eguzon , Water skiing, sailing, fun rides with doughnuts, kayak rentals to name a few activities.
Éguzon Dam, The Éguzon dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Creuse River, it was built between 1922 to 1926 and, at the time, was the largest dam in Europe.

We have the beautiful ruins at the ancient fortress of Crozant

Close by is the village of Fressilines, associated with the artists and poets including Claude Monet, Maurice Rollinat and Gustave Geffroy to name a few.

The roads are quiet with few cars so great for cycling and walking.
