About this villa rental
Casa Caleta is a unique Luxurious Villa located in an exclusive gated community in Akumal, surrounded by a jungle setting and on the shores of the stunning Yalku Lagoon which is a unique natural aquarium. By day, its rooftop deck with pergola provides beautiful views of the Caribbean, the lagoon, and the soothing jungle. At night, your gaze will move upwards to the starry sky From the moment you arrive at this retreat you are welcomed with warm Mexican hospitality. Every whim and desire is satisfied. Your stay can be as pampered as you wish and you can be ensured that it will be a memorable one.
Rooms
The first bedroom offers two queen beds, a sitting area, and an ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. The master bedroom has a king bed, sitting area, and large ensuite bathroom that accesses its own private outdoor Jacuzzi. The children's bedroom is great for the young at heart. With two queen beds and 6 single beds, there are plenty of beds and the kids will want to take turns sleeping in the specially designed bunk-style beds. This room has an ensuite bathroom with two showers.
The fourth guest suite offers a king bed (can be two singles) and two queen beds, as well as a private bathroom with a Bali-style shower.
Garden & Pool
While there is no doubt that the interior of this home is gorgeous and made for groups, the outdoor areas are what will keep your family entertained. The terrace is covered by an impressive palapa with a massive circular dining table seating 12. Step into the large blue-tiled pool surrounded by tropical foliage or lounge poolside while enjoying your favorite beach read. The chefs of the group will delight in the gas BBQ grill with bar which is the ideal place to hang out with a margarita while freshly caught seafood is being grilled by you or by the staff! The large green lawn can be set up with games such as volleyball, soccer, football, and many more. When you are ready to snorkel and swim, walk the groomed path to Yalku Lagoon. As you would have direct access you can experience snorkeling just after sunrise. An unforgettable experience! The best-kept secret about the property is it has its very own "private in-ground cenote" in the backyard to swim whenever you want.
Indoor
The indoor dining area has seating for twelve and the fully equipped kitchen with high-end appliances will satisfy even the most discerning chefs. The glass hallway with a tropical garden view leads to the four air-conditioned bedrooms that feature luxurious en-suite bathrooms with stone fixtures. The glass air-conditioned atrium leading to each bedroom brings the feel of tropical gardens inside without compromising any comfort.
The interior of the home spans nearly 10,000 square feet of living space and recreational area. Upon entering, you are greeted by the expansive open plan living area, decorated in creams and whites with natural stone and wooden accents, just off which lies a den with a flat-screen TV and surround sound stereo.

To insure that guests feel taken care of, the villa includes maintenance and housekeeping services in the form of a sweet couple who live in a separate home at the entrance of the property.
Location
The town of Akumal is 20 minutes between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, and 1 hour from Cancun Airport. Casa Caleta has been the vacation destination of several known celebrities due to its incredibly private location, impeccable hospitality, and secure community. And the Town of Akumal hosts a wide range of exquisite restaurants, yoga, dive shops, spa, art festivals, and other convenient amenities. You can capture the essence of Mayan Riviera at any of the world-famous outdoor Parks; Xel’ha, Xplore, Xcaret, and Xenses all are minutes from Akumal. Our concierge can help you arrange anything you wish for a party, transportation, COVID Testing, spa services, like the genie in the bottle you wish, and he grants.
Accommodation
Casa Caleta accommodates up to eighteen guests, with a maximum of six children. Rates are based on 12 guests, add $50.00 per person per night over base occupancy of 12 guests, and toddlers under the age of 2 stay free.
*Max occupancy is 18 adults/children.
Food
During your stay Casa Caleta offers complimentary cook service for breakfasts provided by “Isidro” should you wish from Monday through Saturday (guests pay the cost of groceries and $25 dollars for shopping fee and transportation for the cook to go shopping.
Chef service for lunch and/or dinner can be arranged too. The service fee for this is $7.00 dollars per person for lunch and $10.00 for dinner; kids 5 and under are free. You pay for groceries. We can provide pre-stocking as well. Your reservation also includes complimentary daily housekeeping (Monday to Saturday) and purified drinking water (Tap water is not safe to drink).
This is a "family style" service. Everybody eats the same meal.

Jungle Gym
What about working out in the middle of the Jungle and then taking a dip on the Cenote that is next to it, once in a lifetime experience.

There is daily housekeeping by “Leo”.
House Personal is available from Monday to Saturday. Sunday can be booked in advance for an extra fee.

AC
We have AC in all bedrooms, kitchen, and living areas, we kindly ask you to be mindful of its use. Please make sure all doors are closed (including bathroom doors) before turning them on. Be aware comfort temperature is 24ºC or 75ºF.
AC will be turned OFF if the guest is not in the area.
Laundry
If you wish to have a laundry service, we can arrange for it to be collected; please notice it will be done in a local laundry and will be self-paid. Casa Caleta is not responsible for any damage.
Animals
Since we are in the middle of the jungle we have many wild animals around; sea turtles, crabs, raccoons, squirrels, birds, geckos, bees and so, please be respectful of them.
Gratuities
They do appreciate gratuities from our guests. That goes directly to their families.

Our family just finished an incredible week at Casa Caleta. From the fast communication with Karla, to the lovely home and meals cared for and prepared by Isidro, Leo, and family this was perfect. We would absolutely stay again.

We stayed for a week and did not want to leave. Beautiful house, well cared for. The beautiful property is a well hidden gem. We all went snorkeling only a short walk away. Even the 5 year old. We enjoyed the song birds, lizards, and daily visit from the gecko. The delicious meals prepared every day were especially a treat. 10 out of 10. You won't be disappointed.

If you are looking for a place that is away from the crowds but close enough to all the activities this is the place. It was peaceful safe and relaxing. Isidro and his wife made the trip even that much better. We had them do most of are dinners and breakfast's and it was the best food. Every meal was great. He was always happy and helpful with all are questions. We had a great time in the near by lagoon also. I would highly recommend this Place to stay. Myself and family loved it.

Good:
The home is spacious and a great fit for a group. The grounds are unique and amazing from the private access to the lagoon to the on-grounds cenote! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy drinks and meals at the house.
Isidro and his family (caretakers) were a joy and took great care of us. We loved their help in making the grocery run and cooking for us. The food was good, though a tad bland to us. But that's to be expected because we're from New Orleans.
We loved the stock of beach towels, fins, and snorkel gear to enjoy the lagoon and cenote.
The location is fantastic. Central to Playa del Carmen, Akumal, and Tulum.
Bad:
House is in need of attention and maintenance.
AC in the main areas of the house didn't work for 2 out of the 6.5 days of our trip. Two days of not being able to congregate as a group without miserable heat (it was 95 outside).
We didn't have hot water for two days of our stay.
The rooftop deck that is eloquently described in the description was not useable. It was full of trash, ladders and maintenance equipment, benches in need of attention, and...a huge, broken hot tub.
Key kept getting stuck in the door so house was often not secure.
I get that it was impossible to get an AC repair person out on the weekend; however, for a house at this price point, I was shocked that the host was unwilling to work with us to make it right (she offered $10 per person). Many of us saved for a year for this trip.
