Summary:

Transformed by a contemporary renovation with no expense spared, this cleverly designed apartment provides a sleek city haven in the heart of the CBD. Positioned in a landmark building within footsteps of the world class Sydney Harbour.

Apt 9, 10 & 11 are on the top floor. There are nice balcony areas to enjoy different views depending on the floor and unit. Stevens Building is an architectural masterpiece, prestigious, recognised by the NSW Trust as being the first residential apartment building to be constructed in New South Wales. Designed by renowned architect Joseph Alexander Kethel. Guest Access:

The whole apartment is yours to enjoy.

For the home owners security, only guests who are listed on the security form are allowed access to the property.

The Neighborhood:

The Rocks is Australia’s colonial history on display in modern-day Sydney. European settlers first arrived at this harbor landing in 1788 and since then The Rocks has been the site of crooked slums, cobbled walkways, hidden courtyards, and convivial pubs. Stories seem to hide in every nook and cranny, but The Rocks’ petite size makes unravelling their yarns an easy (and wholly enjoyable) task for urban sleuths and aimless wanderers.

Getting Around:

International Airport: 20 minutes by cab without traffic

Central Station: 17 minutes by train

Opera House / Circular Quay: 5 minute walk

Bondi Beach: 25 minutes by bus

Other Things to Note:

If the FIRE ALARM is triggered, guest needs to pay for the fire call out fee.

All guest are required to complete an online insurance / security form. This step involves uploading an ID and a selfie holding the ID to verify the booking details. For the home owners security, only guests who are listed on the security form are allowed access to the property.

Australia is a tropical country, from time to time you may see bugs, spiders and insects, mostly harmless. We don't accept cancellations on the above but are at your disposal should you need any assistance. We regularly fumigate the property to prevent unwanted pests.

There is also a building boom going on through out Sydney we don't refund for construction noise if anything is going on in the neighbourhood however if there is works being done next door or in the same building we will have a note in our summary.

Lost keys or keys not returned to the lockbox is a call out fee of $350.

Lovely apartment and fantastic location. Host was prompt with an extra blanket. A little noisy with people walking in the apartment above us. Lucky we brought our own coffee, tea and sugar as none supplied. It would have been a nice touch.

If you're considering a stay close to all that The Rocks and surrounds has to offer, then look no further. This historic building has all the modern comforts you require, whilst still retaining some of the original features. It is extremely spacious by Sydney standards and has a fully equipped kitchen . The location is close enough to everything you could wish for, with the luxury of the relative quiet of being in a more residential part of the city. It's a short walk to pubs and restaurants of Walsh Bay wharf, a great wine shop and small IGA grocery store, and also to the heart of The Rocks via Argyle St. It is very close to a pub with great food, however we did not notice any noise from the establishment on either nights. Apartment 4 is on the first floor and has views of the top of the Harbor Bridge. It also has a small balcony off the bedroom at the rear of the building, however the view is not something to behold at the time of writing. The French doors to the balcony do allow a stiff breeze to come through when locked into position and the blind rolled down, so I imagine the small heater supplied may be required in the cooler months. (Sydney was wet and windy for part of our weekend stay, but not so cold that we considered heating). We would most definitely stay in the building again. The landlords were most attentive (via messenger), and were genuinely caring. It is great value for money

The location was excellent. The actual stay let the overall experience down. In short - The bed was as hard as the floor. The simple things that make a BnB a great experience were lacking ... no tissues ... poor coffee selection ... a non smart TV... Principally the bed and bedding were the primary complaint from our end. The doona insert was ....stained.... really not acceptable when it can be replaced regularly from Kmart. Small cheap touches would have made the whole stay much better.... we will not be back.
