Spend your Vacation Sleeping right on the shore of Beautiful Star Lake!

Star Lake is an awesome place! We don’t want to tell anyone how nice it is because we want to keep it all to ourselves, a best kept secret. We saw numerous eagles, ducks, a muskrat, a rainbow and at least seven-nine fishing boats on the lake from time to time. Also we witness one ski boat and a brave skier on the lake as the water is still about 51 degrees May 24. The Star Lake hiking trail, a perfect hike, is about 2 miles long and wraps around the peninsula only 5 minutes from the Little Dipper cabin. The cabin is clean and accommodates four people comfortably. It has all the amenities you would want for your time away from the hustle and bustle.

The update on this cabin is so nice. Small bedrooms but the rest of the cabin is quite open. Nice shower.

We started coming here 2 years ago, and now we are making it a yearly family tradition. We love staying here and will look forward to many years ahead.

The cottage has a quality interior and is well maintained. It is actually only a few feet from the water and there is a beautiful view of the lake from inside. The host and neighbor/owner are very nice. But the cottage is only 10-15 feet off a busy road, there is another cottage right next door (separated by shrubs), and there is a lot of boat activity in front. This made it too noisy for my taste. I also hoped for easy lake access and beautiful swimming. But there is a 1-2 foot drop to the water's edge from the grass, and the shoreline is protected by rocks. I have some mobility issues, so it was very risky for me to enter that way. There is a nice shared dock, but I cannot get in or out of the lake from a dock. I recommend building shallow steps with a rail from the grass to the water. Despite the risk, I did get in the lake. The water is clean, the bottom a soft sand. It starts very shallow, but gets deep enough to not feel the bottom. But I did not enjoy swimming or working out due to weeds that grew almost to the surface. However, I spent hours floating and reading and enjoying a family of ducks swimming right up to me. There's also a pair of loons. This would be a nice property for younger, more agile renters who intend to boat or waterski.
