Escape to the mountains at Double Diamond, a spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath retreat just a short stroll from the slopes, shops, restaurants, and Plaza at Purgatory Ski Resort (Angelhaus #308). Perfectly located about one block from the main lifts, you'll enjoy easy access to skiing, dining, and year-round adventures.
Perched on the upper level of Angelhaus, this inviting condo features breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding high peaks you can enjoy from your private east-facing balcony. Inside, you can gather around the cozy wood-burning fireplace after a day on the mountain, or relax in the comfortable living room while enjoying the views.
The open dining area easily seats six, with additional bar seating at the granite kitchen counter. The fully equipped galley-style kitchen features updated appliances, perfect for preparing meals at home. Step outside to grill on the deck or soak in the complex's hot tub for a relaxing evening. For your convenience, coin laundry is available in the building.

RESORT CLUB ACCESS: For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.
PURGATORY SKI MOUNTAIN LOCATION: This condo is located at Purgatory Ski Resort in the San Juan Mountains. Purgatory is 25 minutes north of downtown Durango and is known as a family-friendly ski resort. It has 105 trails, including 5 terrain parks, over 1,500 skiable acres and 12 lift. The resort boasts an average annual snowfall of 260 inches. Purgatory Resort offers a variety of activities and amenities that cater to families, including ski lessons, childcare and a variety of restaurants. It is a more affordable option that some of the other ski resorts in Colorado, has a good mix of terrain for all ability levels, and stunning views. If you're looking for a resort that offers something for everyone, staying at this condo at Purgatory is a great option!
SUMMER AT PURGATORY: Purgatory boasts a bike park accessible by chair lift, an alpine slide, mountain coaster, and treasure panning. There are also hiking trails, jeep tours, and watercraft rentals on Twilight Lake. Purgatory hosts various events throughout the summer, such as live music concerts, festivals and bike races.
NO PETS: Due to HOA rules, the condo (and all condos in the building) is not pet friendly. Please do not bring your pets/emotional support animals.
COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

The host was very helpful and communicative. While the condo is older it’s very well maintained. As a very frequent traveler I always unpack and utilize closets etc. My only suggestion would be to tidy up the items left in the closets. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we hope to come back again. Happy New Year.

We rented for four days, primarily as a base for a ski holiday. Good property although going up stairs to third floor after skiing was a bit daunting.

The property is a bit rustic, but it does have everything that you need. It is on the third floor and you do not have an elevator so hiking up and down with all of your gear is a lot. Also, we could not find the washer and dryer area because it was likely in the basement, which would have been four floors below us. That was inconvenient and we never saw a pool or hot tub or anything like that. It was nice that it was only about two minutes from the lift. That was the best thing about this property.

Overall the property, the home, the location, and the kitchen is well supplied. We had a wonderful, quiet visit.
We only had one slight problem…no hot water for a shower.
Other than that it was great!
