About this house rental
Our Starfish Beach Retreat offers families amazing space and amenities to enjoy Saint Augustine. The six bedrooms allow everyone to have their own space with privacy, and the rest of the house has room enough for the entire family to enjoy themselves. The screened pool will be the total success to keep everyone happy and cool during your visit to Saint Augustine.
The fireplace is decorative and NOT for use by guests.
Saint Augustine beach, near where this house is located, is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the northeast of Florida. It’s an expansive white powder beach! You’ll find fisherman, bikers when the tide recedes, walkers, surfers, kite boarders, shell gatherers, and of course sun bathers! Nearby there are bicycles and beach toys for rent. Further south, 4 wheel drive vehicles are allowed on the beach. Saint Augustine city center, less than three miles north of the house, is the most ancient, gorgeous city in Florida...and America for that matter! It hosts restaurants, stunning historic churches, some of the finest art galleries and a myriad of chic boutique shops. The first Friday of every month features an Art Walk, where some galleries even serve refreshments and stay open in the evening. As you walk cobble stone streets you have opportunity to explore history all around you, often hearing church bells. You can sight see through horse and buggy or trolley tours, or just shop til you drop! You will want to return year after year!
Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house.
The pool heater thermostat is set to a temperature between 78 and 85 degrees F, depending on the time of the year. It’s not possible to raise the temperature above 85 degrees, the temperature range is set to protect the health of the pool (from algae growth) and the equipment. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 58 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated.
Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled.
Bring extra blankets and pillows for the sofa bed. The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup.
Per St Johns County regulations, only ten people are allowed per rental, not counting children 12-years-old or younger. That means this property is allowed up to 10 adults and the rest of the guests must be 12 and under.
If you have a large family and need a second location please inquire with the host about our other property that is nearby.
We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Please purchase trip insurance for your stay if this is a concern.

Great location. Close to beaches, Historic sights, museums and shops. House is an amazing set up for large families to spend time together. Rooms are a nice size and beds are comfortable. I plan on returning next year.

Wonderful house in a wonderful neighborhood. Drive to the beach was 5min if that. We passed the pier parking and drove down to 4th street and had parking every day with no problem. Near all the best spots between downtown St. Augustine vs new town and shops everything about our stay was perfect. The house was extremely spacious for our large group and two dogs. Pool was fantastic after a Long Beach day they even had pool floats and toys for the kids! We didn’t wanna leave! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need even seasonings and pots and pans. There is no electric skillet or storage Containers but there is both a Keurig and a coffee pot. The charcoal grill was perfect. The only downside was the pull out couch room gets really hot in the mornings with the sun shining In so a small travel fan is a must and there is no dressers for clothes if you prefer to unpack your suitcase (I live out mine still packed). But I’ll take a king bed over a dresser for clothes any day! The beds were ALL comfortable!! Sheets and linens and a bunch of bath towels all SUPER CLEAN! absolutely 10/10 loved our 2026’ vacation! Thank you to the hosts who were extremely generous and helpful during our stay. We will vacation again in St. Augustine and fingers crossed we’d love to book the same house next year. Ps. You HAVE to try mayday ice cream shop!!!

The property met our needs for the trip. Naturally, the kids loved the pool. The landscaping around the pool was a bit sad. There were enough beds, but another bathroom would have been nice. Five bedrooms need at least three bathrooms. The kitchen was equipped well(just needed some pot holders). The location was perfect. Thank you for the use of your house.

The property itself was ok. Old, a little worn. For a place that slept 12, it lacked in amenities. For instance, 1 bath towel a piece, 4 beach towels total. 4 lounge chairs by the pool, 2 Adirondack chairs as well. Not walking distance to the beach or downtown. Maybe because I've only stayed in short term rentals out of the country, my expectations were a little higher.
