Thanks for this experience and many thanks for keeping out backpacks in the storage after check out.
The location and the staff were wonderful.
The wifi connection was too weak and the light was too dark.

My stay was fine but I would not reccommend or rebook.
Despite the bad smell in the room, it felt clean. Clean sheets, the bathroom was decently clean, and I saw the cleaners mopping which was reassuring. There's also a towel warmer which is nice. Location is ok, near the train station. There is a lounge area in the lobby but I didn't see a kitchen (I also didn't look very hard).
The room felt clean but there was a horrible smell of mildew, even after a cleaning and leaving the window open. There was no window or vent in the bathroom so there may be a mold problem. Also, there was a loud alarm going off in the hallway for one of the nights, all night. No curtains on the bed too, and there are large gaps between the bed and the wall. One night my friend's phone fell between the gap.

The accommodation does not provide a safe environment for female guests.
I did not have a good experience. The place is very dirty, the bathrooms were extremely dirty, and there was no soap or toilet paper. The next day, no one came in to clean or restock the hygiene products.
I did not feel safe at the place. The people who stay there are only from the Middle East, and I did not feel safe as a woman. The next day, a man entered my room so his friend could use the bathroom in the room. The place is not safe for women; the accommodation should be for men only. I did not feel safe. The next day, at 7:00 p.m., I had to leave the hostel to look for safer accommodation. It was a very bad experience.

Good for its price, but consider other places for a more comfortable stay
It is in a good location, reachability-wise: 5 minutes from the tram stop, 10 minutes from Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi train station, 15-20 minutes from the city center. You can rent a padlock from the receptionist. The windows in my room were directed towards the courtyard, so there was no outside sound.
The area around the place itself is more of an outskirts, with low concentration of restaraunts/cafes or groceries around. The following is my experience with the "Bed in 4-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room": The hostel rooms are rather cramped, no more than 1.5 meters in-between two bunk beds, the whole room is probably 8-10 square meters. There is no air conditioner or ventilation in the room (other than the window) and the one in the bathroom is not that efficient, so if you turn up the heat of the towel dryer, your room has a chance to become a sauna. The door locking system is not quiet, and when it remains not completely closed for a second or two, it starts a pretty loud sound alarm.

Good Stay
Was a very nice and comfortable stay. The room was clean as was the bathroom. It’s a simple walk to the city centre and nice common area to chill.
My only issue is that one person in my room claimed to have bed bugs, but not sure if there actually was. I also had someone in the room wake up at 6am switched the light on and began shouting.

Awkward
Facilities are super reasonable. Clean and comfy beds, really nice bathroom.
I felt really insecure. On my first day there, the police entered the hostel and took someone away in handcuffs. One of my roommates later told me that an unknown guest had been robbed during their stay. I hope the hostel improves its security standards, not only in the rooms but also for its guests overall.

Central. Convenient. Good value.
Central. Close to metro.

Cheap
The bed.
Rooms are very small and cold. Doesn't have much of a hostel vibe.
