About this cabin rental
Welcome to our quiet private cabin with modern conveniences just outside Mitchell Oregon located on a working cattle ranch. The cabin boasts beautiful views of the local mountains including Sutton Mountain, White Butte and Black Butte. At night sit outside on the partial wrap around porch and take in the crystal clear night sky. Bring a telescope and see which constellations you can spot! Wildlife abounds including deer, elk, antelope and more.
The cabin sleeps up to six adults with 2 queen beds and a bunk bed with 2 full-size mattresses. It has a modern kitchen, shower and bath combo, washer, dryer, WiFi satellite television, heater and AC. The open concept has a living space on the ground level and sleeping loft upstairs with beds located in one spot.
This is the perfect get-a-way just 10 minutes from the Painted Hills, one of Oregon's must see tourist destinations. This is a chance to get back to nature and see a variety of Central Oregon wildlife and gaze at the stars.
We have had excellent cabin reviews by guest hunters over the last 4 years. Many return each year during hunting season. This is our first year to be available April to July to other guests.

This cabin was clean and wonderfully furnished with plenty of room and incredible views. 10/10 can’t wait to go back. Be prepared with food and snacks as those are sparse and long drives to come by. Even restaurants close early, open late and sometimes completely closed ( like on Mondays) etc. come prepared and you will have an incredible stay. This cabin is the perfect location to explore the Painted Hills.

Lovely location, quiet and peaceful.Patricia and Pete are very friendly and helpful.Day trips to the painted hills and sheep rock are very doable from this location.Taking the back way on 207 along the McKenzie River from sheep rock was a special treat. There’s even a place to swim in the river at the park in Sharp.The drive time from the road is 20-30 minutes and useful to know if timing of a trip away matters.Thank you so much for a wonderful day and a beautiful setting.

Outstanding remote cabin, great dark-sky at night, only a few cattle as company. Hostess Patti is extremely helpful and a real gem, even returning a yoga mat to me which I carelessly left behind. Well-equipped, modern and comfortable. Great access to the painted hills. We hope to stay there again!
