Llyn Peninsula holiday cottage - self catering on Llyn Peninsula
Angorfa, which is Welsh for anchor, is a detached beachfront home originally built in the 1970s as a one-off architect designed house. Set within its own garden located just a short walk from the beach within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is really well-situated on the edge of the Llyn Peninsular and close to Snowdonia.
Angorfa was completely renovated in 2021 but the owners have consciously retained some of its original 1970s feel by keeping the original kitchen cabinets and re-using some of the bathroom ware. The gives the house a ‘quirky' vintage-modern feel and its own unique charm. It is spacious and light and has recently been awarded a 5 star VisitWales grading fro self catering accommodation.
The house has amazing views of the sea or the mountains from every window. The enclosed garden is a good size and has three outdoor seating areas, one with a dining table and chairs that comfortably seats 8. There is also a spacious first floor balcony with panoramic views.
Angorfa is has some Eco-friendly features including an air-source heat pump for hot water and heating.

Open plan area with dining room, kitchen and inner hallway
The dining room which opens onto the kitchen and inner hallway has a large dining table to seat 8. There is a sliding patio door which leads to a side patio area with outdoor seating and dining table.
Dining room
The kitchen is fitted with retro-modern units. It has a built in double sink, microwave, electric oven, induction hob and extractor fan plus a fridge freezer.
The stairs in the open inner hallway area lead to the first floor.
Utility Room
Utility room with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. A door leads to the side garden area.
Bedroom 1 with en-suite shower room
Spacious with super king-sized bed and double aspect windows with its own en-suite shower room. En-suite has walk in shower, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC.
Bedroom 2 with en-suite shower room
Spacious bedroom with king-sized bed (zip link can be split into two 2'6 singles on request) and double aspect windows. En-suite has walk in shower, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC.

Angorfa has a large enclosed garden with seating areas at both sides of the property. To the front of the house there is plenty of space for parking. The rear garden has a lawn with views to the mountains and to the sea. It also has a seating area in a gazebo.
NB The house is accessed via steps from the driveway.

A well designed layout making the most of the amazing view!
Very comfortable beds and lovely powerful shower with plenty of hot water!
Great outside space especially the patio which we enclosed off at back by putting some of the outside chairs across so our dogs could be free, a little gate here would be a great added extra. The balcony was lovely to sit out on on our good weather days!
Very short walk of about 2 mins to the beach. Large pebbles at high tide but sand in parts at low tide which our dogs enjoyed.
We saw dolphins from the property which of course made my day!
Large kitchen but unfortunately this is where a couple of cleanliness issues arose!
Dirty oven and grill, crumbs in drawers, old food in freezer dated a month earlier, dirty looking t towels, very well used baking sheets with the coating coming off, saucepans and frying pan very scratched with worry that coating had come off too! Im afraid when youre paying good money, you do expect good things! I took it up with the company whilst staying there and David immediatly ordered new baking sheets! The oven was deep cleaned recently but he will check it along with the pans etc! He took onboard all i said, so hopefully those things will all improve!
It would not put me off staying ever, just when you turn up after a long journey and you want to put tea on whilst you unpack, and see all that, it doesnt start you off in the best frame of mind. But everyday the experience got more positive!
We did alot of travelling around but our favourite thing was coming back to our holiday home with the fabulous view.
It really is very special.

Angorfa is a unique beautifully designed house very close to the sea. The spacious sitting room on the first floor has large windows with wonderful views of the sea and the mountains. We loved the ease of being able to get to the beach and walk along the coast. The house was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. We appreciated the simplicity of the design and furnishings; it was a peaceful uncluttered space. It was easy to find and simple to check in. When we had a question, David was quickly available to help us. We intend to return next year.

Stayed at angorfa for the weekend with my family to celebrate my 50th birthday and we absolutely loved everything about it. The house and views are stunning. Great communication with our host Dave too. Will definitely be booking again.

We had a lovely stay at the wonderful Angorfa House with friends. An excellent, clean and spacious house for 4 couples, with en-suites for each room and very comfortable beds. Fabulous views, especially from the upstairs living room and balcony. Loved the quiet coastal location and the dog-friendly beach on our doorstep. David of Coastal Holidays was so helpful and thoughtful and a lovely welcome pack too. Great base for exploring the surrounding areas. We would be very happy to return to Angorfa. Thankyou!
