In less than an hour's drive you can reach many cities of art and fascinating medieval villages such as Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Versilia, the Cinque Terre and the beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
You can reach us in 15 minutes by car from the 'Pontedera' exit of the FI-Pi-LI motorway.

After an easy and straightforward 30 minute drive from Pisa airport we arrived at the apartment at approx. 8pm where we were greeted by our lovely hosts Maurizio and Stefania and a beautiful sunset. We were shown around the apartment and supplied with info about local restaurants etc. and then were presented with a substantial platter of delicious homemade bruschetta , pecorino, salumi, biscotti and a carafe of red wine which was a lovely surprise and which also meant we didn't need to go in search of a place to eat that evening.
We were asked if we would like to partake of a six course meal with wine at their house on Monday evening for a fee of 30 Euros each which we readily accepted. Monday evening arrived and we were welcomed into their lovely home and presented with a truly delicious assortment of lovingly and painstakingly prepared dishes created by Stefania and served by the gracious Maurizio.
Our hosts live above the two apartments that they let out. Although out at work all day they are contactable by mobile phone if necessary.
The house is in a quiet area with on-street parking. The back of the house is where the entrances for both apartments are located. Their respective verandas and lawn have a near 180 degree elevated view over the beautiful countryside. We spent many a relaxing hour just admiring the view and the acrobatics of the swifts and swallows and even saw a hawk hover and dive whilst inhaling the heady scent of the Glicine (Wisteria) and Magnolia.
Even though it seems that you are miles away from everything it is very easy to explore other areas of Toscana. We visited Florence (using car and tram), San Gimignano, Vinci and most of the hill towns on the Chianti trail.
The living room/dining kitchen is pretty small but was adequate for our needs. Don't plan on cooking big meals as there is only a two ring gas hob and a tiny worktop sized oven/grill. The one bedroom is large with a comfortable king sized bed and a single bed. A large bathroom with a bath and over bath shower, sink, toilet and bidet. Plentiful supplies of hot water the only slight negative being the lack of an extractor fan so it gets very steamy in there.
We really enjoyed our time at the apartment which was made special by the generosity of Maurizio and Stefania and we highly recommend this apartment.

When I say Amazing, I mean amazing! This apartment was so beautiful and the view of the Tuscan countryside was breathtaking. The location was so quiet and serene. Our hosts were lovely and so accommodating.They made arrangements for us to go to a couple of wineries and even escorted us there! They were always available if we had any questions and on a few occasions brought down homemade treats and wine for us to feast on. This stop was our favorite part of our trip. Thank you Maurizio and Stefania! I hope one day soon to see you again!
