The Sonoran Sun Resort is one of the newer Resorts on Sandy Beach, just built in 2005. This 2nd floor condo has GORGEOUS views of Sandy beach and the Ocean's Sea of Cortez. Size: 1,785 sq. ft. "Plus 389 Sq. ft. patio"
Being only one flight up makes for easy and quick access to the pool and beach, including those trips back and forth to replenish the cooler, grab the goggles you may have forgot for the kiddos, or anything else you need. After you pass the pool, you are immediately on the beach. The beach has tide shifts to present tide pools during certain times of the day and high tides during other times. The beach is lined with Lounge Chairs with covered Palapas, to use at your leisure. The pool area is complete with a large (seasonally heated) adult pool and two other large pools, both with access to the swim up bar, which offers great food and the best bartenders in town! There are also two excellent hot tubs. The Sonoran Sun is truly a Boutique Resort with only 228 condos.
This condo is beautifully upgraded with granite countertops, travertine floors, beautiful wood cabinets and a lot of furniture. There is a King Bed in each Bedroom, 3 King Beds total, 3 Bathrooms (1-1 Full Bath, jet tub and 2-3/4 baths), and a bonus room with bunk beds. The condo sleeps 8, 3-Kings, and 1 set of bunk beds, plus there is a pullout couch! So everyone, including the kids, are comfortable. The kitchen has new stainless steel appliances and is well equipped for cooking. There is also an open grill area available next to the resort. There is a restaurant at the Sonoran Sun, as well as the many other fantastic restaurants just a quick drive away.
The condo has a dedicated wi-fi and there is a business center and full fitness center available for you as well. The convenience store has almost everything that you may have forgotten, or would like to re-stock. My personal favorite is the cozy, and very reasonable, Spa at the resort, which offer Pedicures, Manicures, Massages, Facials and other services!

Great property. We’ve booked this condo three times and will continue to do so. It’s the only spot we wanna stay. Condo is great very comfortable. Nice pool, love the beach, the bar, the restaurant, even a weight room, and a store on the property. Close to wrecked at the reef and a short drive to j.j.’s A

Perfect location. Plenty of room for five adults. Facility and staff were wonderful. Clearly a well-loved and used condo as some furniture was in need of repairs (bedroom) and new cushions (balcony). All in all a good stay.

Our stay at the resort had some positives, but there were a few issues that made the experience less enjoyable than expected.One of the bedroom TVs wasn’t working properly, which was disappointing since everyone in our group contributed equally for the room and not everyone could enjoy the amenities. The master bedroom shower also had a drainage issue and would basically turn the bathroom into a small lagoon by the time you finished showering.Communication was another challenge. The host took about a day to respond to questions, and when we contacted the owner it still took several hours to get a response. When you’re staying somewhere and problems come up, quicker communication would really help.Overall the place has potential, but the maintenance issues and slow communication made the stay less comfortable than it should have been.
