About this cabin rental

Welcome to Running Bears Den, your home away from home. Located in the prestigious community of Chalet Village, Running Bears Den is a 3328 sq ft, 3 level cabin that sleeps up to 10 people comfortably.
It has everything that you would need for a relaxing and memorable vacation. Grab a beverage and relax on one of the double decks while listening to the babbling creek running through the front yard. The upper deck offers a secluded hot tub to soak in to ease tensions and to reach a whole new level of relaxation.
Hang your coat or take off your shoes in the large mudroom. The open concept allows for lots of natural light and is ideal for large family gatherings. The main floor includes a bedroom with a king size bed and a massaging chair for your tired or aching muscles. The oversized main floor bathroom features 2 large vanities with a jacuzzi tub and separate stand up shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and provides all the amenities needed for a home-cooked meal or take out. Cozy up to the unique creek-stone fireplace in the winter while your family watches tv or plays games on the nearby dining room table that seats ten. The sofa in the family room conveniently pulls out to a queen size sleeper.
Overlooking the main living area, is a loft that features a large flat-screened tv with blue-ray player and lots of movies, books, and games for adults as well as kids. The spacious master bedroom on this level has a king-size bed to stretch out on while sleeping. The attached master bathroom includes a large jacuzzi tub to soak all your troubles away.
The basement can be a hang out for families or an area for the guys to watch sports or compete against each other while shooting pool, playing foosball, or playing one of the thousands of games on the arcade system. A second gas fireplace is available to warm up to on chilly nights. A spacious kitchenette provides a refrigerator and microwave for munching on snacks or to keep beverages cold. No need to walk upstairs when you are tired because there is a futon in the gaming area and just around the corner is another large bedroom with a king-size bed. The large bathroom on this level has a tub/shower combo. Also available is a laundry room with a full-sized washing machine, dryer, iron and board. A pack and play is available in this area if needed as well for the little ones.
If this isn’t enough, there are 3 community pools (free admission) and lounge chairs to relax in around the pool. Some of the facilities offer a workout room and tennis courts. Everything was wonderful. Close to gatlinburg and the park. Quiet location. Plenty of room for our family if 6. We love the pool table and basement entertainment area. There are a couple little stores near by for pizza and if you forgot anything. Host was very responsive with any questions we had. Highly recommend.

This place was nice but there were a few aspects which we weren’t so happy about. The supplemental contract when booking the reservation was very strict sounding, to the point I was debating switching to another house. Maybe that is typical language but that contract sort of set expectations high that this property would be in very good shape. Instead we found several areas where the walls, floors, and furniture had lots of wear and tear. There isn’t a lot of drywall in a cabin like this, but every section of drywall had some type of mild damage or defects. We weren’t going around inspecting everything but it was noticeable and surprising the condition it was in considering the strict language of the contract and price point. There were a few areas of mold and attempted cover up. Cleaning was poor. We found lots of food crumbs and other areas just clearly not cleaned in a while.Hot tub was not full enough to use, messaged the owner and they had the cleaning member come out to refill the tub, so we eventually got to use it about 1/2 way through the trip. The decks were nice as you can see in the images but there was almost no where to sit.Zero sound barrier between the 2nd and 3rd floor bedrooms, even a whisper can be heard between them. This is typical for a cabin though. For the 3 bathrooms, there were total of 1 shampoo and conditioner, tiny re-used hotel bottles.Overall we enjoyed the place and game room especially, but lots of small complaints added up
