About this house rental

Summary:

One of the most unique properties in the city. Our log cabin is the oldest structure in Franklin county. Built in 1805, the cabin has been moved, added onto and changed throughout the last two centuries. Located in an off-campus neighborhood, this one of a kind home will take you back in time but give you the modern amenities you need to be comfortable during your stay.

The Space:

This rustic three bedroom has three bedrooms, kitchen, living space and even a hidden room (if you can find it). There is plenty of room to gather with friends or family and play a game or relax. There is also outside seating in a partially fenced yard to enjoy a quiet, relaxing experience.

The main floor has a large living room with fireplace, TV and seating to enjoy some time together. Large bedroom with double bed, and 1/2 bathroom. Upstairs you will find a full bathroom, and 2 more bedrooms. One with a double bed, and one with 2 twin beds.

Guest Access:

You will be able to access the outdoor space and all of the rooms in the property. Anything in the house is yours to use for your stay! One thing you will not have access to is the utility closet. You will have one parking space off the alley and there is street parking not far from the home.

The Neighborhood:

Old North Columbus is a neighborhood located just north of the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded in 1847 where, at the time, it was a stand-alone city out of the confines of Columbus until it was incorporated into the City of Columbus in 1871. In its early years the city was a popular stagecoach stop with people traveling from Worthington to Columbus. Today Old North Columbus is popular for its local music and its unique "untouched architecture" which is reminiscent of its old roots.

Getting Around:

Uber and Lyft are great ways to get around in Columbus, and our central location allows you to get to most parts of downtown in under 10 minutes, and most other parts of Columbus in under 20 minutes.

We also are close to a COTA public bus stop. Also available in Columbus are a bike share, and scooters!

Other Things to Note:

Guests must provide a valid driver’s license or ID and sign our Rental Agreement after booking to receive arrival instructions. Parties & unauthorized gatherings are strictly prohibited, and hosts reserve the right to withhold arrival instructions of confirmed reservations from guests with negative or low reviews, are under 25 years old and/or live closer than 100 miles from the home at the host's discretion in an effort to ensure the safety and security of our community, (impacted guests will be notified shortly after booking, and a full refund will be provided if the guest cancels the reservation in a timely manner).

PET FEES: Guests are required to disclose how many pets will enter the home. A one-time fee will be required based on the length of stay for the following amounts:

$35 (Less than 5 nights)

$50 (5 - 30 nights)

$100 (30+ nights prorated daily, or $75 for each additional full month booked)

Interaction with Guests:

The Housepitality hosting team is a full time crew of professionals that work together to provide an excellent experience for our guests. We are out and about all the time helping guests, and we are thrilled when we get a chance to help make someone's trip special. Just reach out at anytime!

We enjoyed our stay in the log cabin. There we only two of us and a dog that came up for a vet appt at Ohio State, and it was a perfect location for that. Also like that there was a bit of yard that we could take our dog out to explore after a long car ride.

We enjoyed our stay in this historic house. The house was exactly the way how it was described in the listing. The location is great very close to the university.
