Positioned in the heart of this charming hamlet, the castle commands a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the surrounding vineyards, olive groves, and verdant countryside around the village of Cetona. This unique location, close to the cultural treasures of Siena, Florence, and Umbria, and within reach of Rome, makes it an idyllic retreat for those seeking both tranquility and convenience.

The castle itself is a masterpiece of medieval architecture, crowned by a private tower with a panoramic terrace that affords sweeping views of the stunning landscape. Surrounding the castle, meticulously maintained gardens invite you to explore and unwind. The grounds feature a panoramic pool where you can enjoy a refreshing swim while gazing out over the rolling hills. Numerous observation points throughout the gardens offer perfect spots for reflection, reading, or simply soaking in the beauty of your surroundings.

Dining al fresco is a delight in the castle’s several outdoor living spaces, set among fragrant lemon trees and vibrant floral displays. An antique Roman-style open-air theatre nestled within a secluded woodland area adds a touch of historical charm and offers a unique venue for intimate gatherings and performances.

Cetona itself is a gem of Tuscany, renowned for its elegant architecture and rich history. The hamlet's enchanting streets and beautiful buildings complement the castle’s timeless elegance, creating a seamless blend of past and present.

For the first time ever - something that seems to good to be true actually is true!! Shockingly beautiful property. Vasile cares for this place with such passion that it’s immaculate. Stefania is a gem and so engaged and helpful. The location is perfect and the castle is a real castle that doesn’t smell musty and the view is to die for. Bedrooms all have a bathroom attached. Some don’t have showers but it’s a castle, having a beautiful bath is a fun option. Magical space that creates a magical holiday. Nothing

The castle exceeded all of the couples’ expectations! The pictures, while amazing, cannot fully capture the grandeur, the Etruscan details, the paintings, the comfortable furnishings, the expansive views…I could go on and on! The caretaker team was terrific and communications before and during were great. The town of Cetona is filled with charm and some terrific shops and eateries and there’s a bunch of close by (less than an hour’s drive) atmospheric towns. We loved the Poggio del Moro winery and Stefania arranged to have Chef Sabrina Giuliacci come in to cook us a meal one night. Book your stay now!

This castle is a wonder. It is not a house designed to be a short term rental, it is a personal experience curated by the hosts and generously shared with the guests. The house and the garden are full of treasures to be discovered and have clearly been built and cared for over time. We felt so privileged to be able to experience them both. Communication with Stefania and the team was quick and easy, the house was beautifully prepared for our arrival, and the guestbook was full of honest and useful information.

We had a fantastic time here with our family. The Lucca Apartments and Villas team and Stefania, the property manager, are great, and helped us to settle right in. The house is beautiful, with all spaces adequate and the kitchen area excellent. The real hero of the place is the very large pool with patio where we spent most of our time. The house is a short 5 minute drive to Cetona with endless shopping and dining options, but very secluded in the Tuscan hills with great privacy and lots of wonderful nature around for hiking and biking. Highly recommended!

Atmospheric stay in a hilltop 10th Century castle with expansive grounds and commanding valley views. Surrounding by lovely southern Tuscan village with lively square and plenty of great restaurants. Plenty of things to see and do within hour's drive. Staff very welcoming and friendly, on hand to help with local tips, bookings, shopping or some more unusual requests. Highly recommend!

This castle is absolutely magical. We ended up canceling our plans for a day trip to Florence just so we could stay on the property longer. The town is small and the locals were warm and welcomed us with open arms. We are already planning my next trip back!
