First, great night skys! This property is well located, great retreat, and nearby Sutter Creek town is adorable with wonderful food/dining options - we loved our stay and really appreciated the personal touch of hand made happy birthday signs for my wife’s 50th!

The description doesn't even come close to how beautiful this apartment and Hillside views are! The natural rock infinity pool is gorgeous with a hot tub and a waterfall. And the view just sitting by the pool drinking morning coffee or evening wine is exquisite. The accommodations were perfect for us. We were on a wine tasting three day weekend trip.. the beds were cozy. The managers/owners were extremely accommodating. I obviously definitely recommend this place.

This property and the hosts who curate it are wonderful! Everything about our stay was as advertised or better than we expected. The interior had all we needed. The fridge is an actual antique and is perfectly functional but a bit small, so don’t plan on stocking it up. The pool was clean and the view across the foothills was serene. I watched hummingbirds, woodpeckers, hawks, and wild turkeys all around the beautiful landscape in mid September. The nearby small airport had some fixed wing and helicopter traffic that was not an intrusion at all. I personally enjoyed watching them come and go. Nearby Sutter Creek and Jackson have plenty of dining and shops if you wish to leave for a bit. Thank you!

This turned out to be a wonderful experience and stay at this property. The check-in was easy, accommodations were beyond my expectations and the location was beautiful and amazing. It's convenient to the town of Sutter Creek and a 15 min. drive to the small historic town of Volcano. It had all the amenities of a resort stay, yet quiet and secluded for an enjoyable get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Charlotte was so helpful with check in and directions and Betsy was a pure joy to meet and connect with. Recommend this property 100%.!

The place is great. Steep stairs if you have issues with stairs. Very quiet and beautiful place. The bed was comfortable, the pool amazing. So glad we found it. Quick 5 minutes to Sutter

Stayed here for a long weekend with my 10-year-old son. Check in was very easy, property is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. We had a great time enjoying the beautiful pool with its incomparable views. Far enough from town to feel like you're getting away, but Sutter Creek is just 5 minutes down the road, and 10 minutes from stores and anything you might need. Good vibes!

Somehow… this perfectly-rated property manages to exceed expectations. I knew nothing about the area and decided to book based on the reviews— and was absolutely thrilled with the experience. It’s essentially an apartment with a huge pool and hot tub with every amenity, and the kindest family imaginable. The area is incredible with a throwback feel. I highly recommend and am already looking forward to returning.

Quick getaway for us with kids out of town. Place is great. Secluded up on a hill as advertised. Pool and hot tub are amazing features to enjoy. Close to Sutter Creek for wine tasting and great food. Would definitely recommend.

The stay at Sunset Hills was perfect! As someone who has worked in hotel management for over 10 years, notes were being taken!The communication right from the initial booking was exceptional. We felt very welcomed and the stay was in the cutest little apartment. It was a great distance from the cute little Sutter Creek downtown, only an hour from Sacramento and only 3 hours from San Francisco, so we were able to make a couple of day trips. We will definitely be looking to stay here again at our next trip to the area!

I enjoyed a quiet weekend in this beautiful apartment. The pool was refreshing and relaxing. The town and surrounding areas have much to explore. I kept it simple with a scenic drive and pool time. :) I had a chance to sit and speak with Betsy for a little while and enjoyed hearing her stories. I definitely hope to return someday.

Betsy and Charlotte were wonderful hosts! Everything is well thought out and prepared for arrival. Our favorite part was enjoying the sun rise over the California hills while enjoying our morning coffee poolside. The place was simple to get to and a little slice of heaven. We came for a family wedding and loved having some downtime to relax. The hosts also assisted during our stay with any questions and lending other amenities we found ourselves in need of. The town has a farmer's market on Saturdays and we picked up some fresh goodies. We will be looking forward to our future travels taking us near Sutter Creek again. famer

This is a wonderful place. The pictures undersold this place! Amazing pool! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves. The host was very responsive and occationally text us with ideas for entertainment and restaurants. This property is very secluded and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again!!!

This gorgeous hideaway is located just up the road from Mainstreet in Sutter Creek. We loved staying here and could not get over the lovely sunset views from the pool! We actually used this as a homebase to visit the Calaveras Big Trees state park (`1.5hrs drive) and surrounding outdoor spaces. It was great to be able to have breakfast in town and then make the quick drive the park. The only critique we have is that while the bed was large, it was super firm. Otherwise, we could not recommend this place more and we plan to be back, if not just to have another opportunity to take a sunset dip!

This property was EVERYTHING it was promised to be. We spent four blissful days enjoying the grounds in privacy and luxury. The hosts were accommodating, attentive and flexible throughout our stay. We explored the charming towns and nearby trails of the area. The mountains up Highway 88 were just over an hour away, where we were treated to beautiful landscapes and spectacular views. It was an ideal getaway with a perfect balance of rest and exploration!

Betsy is a fabulous hostess & although we didn’t get to meet Charlotte this time, she was very helpful and answered any questions we had. The guesthouse had all the essentials you could need and was very clean! Truly could’ve stayed our entire weekend there without going out and we would be perfectly fine! The view and lounge area were perfect and the pool/hot tub were so much fun and so beautiful! We had the pleasure of talking to Betsy and both her and Charlotte recommended few areas that were fun to explore. We left feeling like it was our home away from home. She is truly wonderful and we cannot wait to come back and visit. 💕 Thank you for all the warmth and kindness.

Despite the reservation being last-minute, with some additional changes throughout the trip on my part, Betsy, Charlotte, and Patty provided exceptional service at every point. We visited Sunset Hills in April, and it was so beautiful. Quail were browsing outside the sliding glass door. The grass was bright green and trees were leafing out. So beautiful. Very close to Sutter Creek where the shopping is fun, and the food is fabulous. Next time I want to swim in that beautiful infinity pool and sit by the fire table in the evening. This is a great place to stay. Beautiful views just a 5 minute drive from downtown Sutter Creek. Property was very clean and welcoming and had all the amenities that you would need.
