What a fun, eclectic, artsy vintage home! Beautiful fenced in back yard and screened in porch. Very clean and the best stocked VRBO we've ever rented. All necessities are there and more: a little coffee bar, games, books, paper towels, toilet paper, spices, cleaning products, bathroom products - you name it! Wonderful central location - close to everything we wanted to visit in and near Michigan City. Thanks, Lisa, for a wonderful stay!

Love the atmosphere of the home, perfect for our stay with our Yorkie. We had everything we needed and then some. Close to great restaurants, shopping and Lake Michigan.

We had such a good time looking around at all the art and knick knacks throughout the house. My daughter especially loved finding all the little hidden treasures. Beds were comfy, house had pretty much everything we could have needed and we felt right at home. Loved the screenwd porch for quiet nights listening to the sounds of the city and the summertime bugs. The farmer's market, along with a frw cute restaurants and shops were just a couple blocks away, so we walked down to a few places. Beach, outlet mall and plenty more restaurants were a very short 5-10 min drive away. Best of all, the house seemed very clean and cozy. Wpuld recommend for a stay in Michigan City!

My husband, daughter , and I stayed here as our home base to visit Indiana Dunes and Chicago. The house was clean and the art / house decor was so bright and cheerful. When we weren’t out exploring the neighborhood, national park, or Chicago this home was so comfortable to relax in , play family games, and cook together. The owner was easy to communicate with and the check in process easy peazy . The 4 beautiful beaches and Dunes we had a chance to visit were all located within 5-25 minutes away. The train station to Chicago is a few blocks away and so convenient. The Breweries nearby were nice as well. If you are visiting the Dunes or need to stay in town for another reason , I highly recommend this house.

We were coming from Indianapolis, and the map took us through some rougher, looking parts of town. When we pulled up to the house, there were some boarded up homes around it. My initial thought was that I had made a huge mistake in booking this place. However, we immediately had the pleasure of meeting the owner, John, and we had a lovely conversation with him. It turns out that while many of the homes around are boarded up or in poor condition, people like John and Lisa, are planning to lovingly restore them. We met a lot of wonderful people in the area who clearly love Michigan City and are dedicated to making it the beautiful place at once was.The house itself was exceptional. It was beautifully decorated, and the layout was great for a family of four. I can honestly say this is the first VRBO that I would really want to come and stay at again.. The location near shops and restaurants can’t be beat, the home is immaculate, and John and Lisa are fantastic hosts. It was a vacation that my family will always happily remember!

The ArtHouse is a wonderful little gem. Everywhere, there are little details to discover. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee and tea; the bathrooms had thoughtful supplies like shampoo and body wash.
The neighborhood is quaint and great for dog walks. It’s also so close to anything you might need.
The owners are super communicative and helpful. Can’t wait to come back!

This was a charming house with artistic details at every turn. The kitchen was equipped with everything that one could need. We had our dogs and there was even a basket of toys that one of our dogs, Sammie, greatly appreciated. The bed was cozy. Even the landscape was well-appointed.
The house was within walking distance of antique shopping, coffee and ice cream, and a wonderful Italian restaurant Cafe Farina's.
I certainly would return to this home in the future.

Stayed here recently and had a lovely visit. The house is about a block away from a lovely street with some shops and restaurants. The decor is wonderful, and the hosts were responsive quickly when we had a minor issue with one of the door locks. The neighborhood was a bit variable, some houses around are in pretty poor shape, but others seemed very nice like this one. Had no concerns really. There are tenants upstairs, but they were mostly quiet aside from some normal floor noises from above. Great stay, quick drive to beaches, the park, and even not a long trip to Chicago. None of the beaches were overcrowded.

My spouse, mother, 2 dogs & I had the pleasure of staying here for a second time. This trip was on the occasion of my mom's 75th birthday. I can't imagine better accommodations for the trip. All the amenities were there. As an added bonus, the magnolia trees were in full bloom in the lovely side yard. Our dogs love it here and the neighborhood is a nice & quiet place for walking them. Love to shop & dine at the local businesses on Franklin St. Also, the great food at the Polish Peasant. All a very short walk away.

We spent 3 days here as a fall getaway and loved it so much we didn’t want to leave. This artist inspired home was full of charm, color and personality. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, dog friendly, and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We especially loved the screened porch and the convenient, well landscaped fenced area outside. Everything was well thought through with much attention to detail. The kitchen was very well equipped - had everything needed and more to create great meals. There are even art supplies for painting and drawing. Best getaway ever!

To say this property is magnificent is an understatement.
It's beautiful, well furnished and comfortable, walking distance to the beach and shops, and the private yard is perfect to relax, especially if you bring your furbaby.
The screened in porch is great, and watching some of the people walking by was entertaining.
The large beds are comfortable, and all rooms are air conditioned.
During our week stay, we cooked a few meals inside, and we found literally every supply and utensil for cooking already there and in nice condition.
This is true for the bath supplies as well..shampoos, hair conditioners, even Q-tips and feminine needs.
We highly recommend staying here, and looking forward to our next visit.
