Sandcastle Condominium Unit 331

We enjoyed our beach trip and this location was good for a short trip for 2. However there are some things I wish i knew before renting. The complex appears to have been recently renovated, however with cheap fixes that are quickly deteriorating (elevator floor is not waterproof, wooden gate to beach hardly worked, park of the boardwalk had literally collapsed on our first day). The beach in front of the condo is right by a public access point so it was packed on a holiday weekend. Our chairs were stolen on the first day unfortunately, I think because of the public location. The pool doesn’t open until 10 because of cleaning. As far as the unit itself, it was pretty bare bones, but did do the trick. The view to the ocean was beautiful, high enough to see out a ways. There were some odd things that I think the owners will need to add to make a fine unit great: there was only 1 sleeping pillow per person (the accent pillow clearly doesn’t get washed), no welcome mat to wipe feet when entering, no towel hooks in the bathroom, no silverware holder (loose silverware in a drawer), no broom or vacuum to clean, no dishwasher (but housekeeping left dishwashing tablets?). The shower pan needs a glass enclosure but just has a shower curtain so water goes everywhere. Overall, the missing items seemed like an oversight in trying to get a unit rentable. It was serviceable for us, but we brought our own coffee and knife sets. We ultimately had a great time but might look for a more established unit next time.
