About this villa rental
Traditional country house with pool and five double rooms with double bed.
Restored with care and detail, it is built around an Andalusian patio within a private estate, a short drive from the beautiful city of Ronda.
Located away from the main roads, Cortijo Cuevas del Marqués was a working farm until recently and its land is still cultivated. When you arrive, you enter a different world, through the avenue of almond trees, which bloom in February and the impressive gateway to the enclosed courtyard, from where you access the main house and the guest house.
The house is very spacious, from the entrance hall, gives way to the spacious living room that has large sofas and a wood stove, this room has double doors that open onto the sunny rear terrace and pool. There is another smaller living room, both have televisions. From the lobby there is also access to a large, well-equipped kitchen, with breakfast area, and separate dining room and four double rooms with private bathroom and shower.
The separate guest house offers an open-plan living room with a wood-burning stove and a double room on the upper floor.
The whole property has central heating, ideal for use throughout the year. At 800 m altitude and with high ceilings, the house generally stays cool even in summer.
It has satellite TV and wireless internet, an electronic piano and ping-pong table.
There are several shaded or sunny outdoor spaces around the pool.
The farmhouse offers stunning views over the valley and towards the remains of the ancient Roman summer city of Acinipo.
The beautiful gardens around the house, which include a formal garden and a pergola, have ancient olive trees, many typical Mediterranean shrubs and aromatic herbs such as rosemary and lavender.
There are many areas to sit and rest, as well as outdoor dining areas with magnificent views.
The attractive pool overlooking the Roman amphitheater is surrounded by large terraces with many terracotta pots.
In addition to the monumental city of Ronda there are many nearby tourist sites such as Setinel, Acinipo and the mountains of Grazalema and Ronda.
There are great walks from the farmhouse and also the opportunity to ride a horse and bicycle.

A perfect holiday! The house is spacious, spotless and well equipped but it’s the location that makes this house so special. We enjoyed the peace and quiet but equally the house is great if you want to spend the evening in Ronda or head out further to Granada or Seville. Lise is a great housekeeper and made us feel very welcome too.

Property is beautiful and manager really helpful. A little more remote than we realised when booking but an incredible spot in a great property. Good facilities so we had everything we needed.

My family and I had an amazing one week stay at this property. The house and grounds are gorgeous, and we enjoyed exploring the local town of Ronda and other nearby towns. We even made the drive to Marbella on one day and Gibraltar another. Would highly recommend! Just note that the house is quite remote from any nearby services, so expect a good 30 minute drive to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Also, be sure to arrange navigation to house before arrival with Lise, as the GPS sent us on a very undeveloped road that nearly destroyed our rent-a-car.

We came to the villa as a family to relax and we did just that with a few visits etc in the middle. The villa is large
Stocked with everything you could possibly ask for. Tranquil, with a lovely swimming pool to cool off in Surrounded by almond trees and with a fig tree both of whose fruits we enjoyed it was just perfect the road to the villa gets a bit rough at the end so a 4x4 is recommended though not essential. Altogether a perfect holiday
