The Spencertown Inn is located in the historic town of Spencertown, New York, just minutes from Chatham, New York’s charming downtown Main Street and a short drive to the Cultural Berkshires of Massachusetts. Happy to have found this lovely place, which is convenient to Tanglewood, pin-drop quiet, and super comfortable. Next time I will avoid VRBO, though, because of its extortionary fees, and book directly with the inn.

Thanks Holly and Andrew and Lauren- we got to relax. Your location off the Taconic was 17-20 miles from everything and everywhere on our list. It was an easy drive to friends near Albany and Chatham offered lots of restaurant choices and shopping with independent business owners-just like small town America used to be. Conservation area right down the road and beautiful drive to Great Barrington via Hillsdale or Rt 71 to Egermont. Country setting away from the summer crowds at Great Barrington and Tanglewood.
The previous reviewer is correct on the hotel web- bring your snacks and supplies with you- no convenience stores near by.
Enjoy the balcony. There is also a common room with the fireplace and outdoor chairs off the common room.
Best of luck to the owners. Holly is very devoted.
