Walk-to-Slope at Timberline Mountain. Approximately 150 yards to the tunnel on Twister Trail.
Sandcastle by the Slopes is a seven bedroom brand new build mere steps from the slopes of Timberline Mountain! True to its namesake, Sandcastle flipped cabin tradition and borrowed the beach house layout, offering guests amazing views of Canaan Valley from the open concept top level while remaining tucked away in the wooded privacy of the slope-side WinterHaven development.
This pet-friendly walk-to-slope home was designed to offer a calm and relaxing atmosphere that can comfortably accommodate up to 24 guests. There are four bedrooms on the middle level, all with king beds and private bathrooms (two also offer a twin xl trundle and three have their own deck access). The lower level has one room with a king bed and attached bathroom, and two bunk rooms, one with a triple queen bunk and twin xl trundle, the other with two triple twin bunks. Each bunk room also has a twin folding sofa bed. The lower level oversized sofa also turns into a sleeper for added options. There is a full bathroom next to the bunk rooms and a half bath on the top level.
In addition to the bedrooms, Sandcastle has a family room perfect for movies, an open concept kitchen/living/dining room filled with natural light and boasting a beautiful gas fireplace, an amazing sunroom with a birds eye view of the mountains, the valley, and the Twister ski slope, two levels of outdoor decks, and a gravel patio, offering plenty of common space for your group to gather together or enjoy some quiet time apart.
Sandcastle also offers its guests plenty of amenities to enjoy during their stay. The house is steps from the Twister ski slope and a very short walk to the quad lift, providing easy access to day or night skiing at Timberline Mountain. There is a 7 person hot tub, an outdoor chiminea, a gas grill, a cornhole court, an arcade gaming area, a video game console with thousands of games, a free library, TVs in every bedroom and three common areas, board games, the putterball golf game, a table top multi-game table, air conditioning, and more!
Sandcastle is perfectly located next to Timberline Mountain, just up the hill from the Canaan Valley Spa (2025 projected opening), down the road from Canaan Valley Resort, and a short drive to the charming mountain towns of Davis and Thomas. My family all met for Thanksgiving, because we have such a large family it can be difficult to get everyone together. The house was located between family members located in Pittsburgh Urga and Maryland. My grandchildren had a great time getting to spend time together. I worked with Becky. She was great and very prompt when answering my questions

Pros: It was spacious and served our needs that way. The kids loved the working video games. Plenty of towels and linens.Clean inside the unit except for scuffs on the walls.Beautiful view from the deckCons: driveway was nearly impassable due to washout ( from a storm?) We had to work on putting rocks and soil there so we could use it without going off a cliff.Also, there were leaks from a bathroom to the laundry room area below with water coming out the ceiling. All the doors were fit too closely.Unfinished wood trim finishesNo electric cover under the sink so potential safety issueOpen electric neutral!!Need an electrician to look at the unit as there is some shoddy wiring. Items stored in utility room and no switch plate cover in there.Some safely concerns for sure. Some garbage on property outside left from workers and nails around.Refrigerator door in basement was barely attached and it didn’t hold temp. Needs to be serviced.Two of the four video games didn’t work.***Carbon monoxide detectors were NOT hooked up!
