Summary:

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. This Puako vacation rental is near the ocean, pool, and white sandy beaches of Puako Bay. The rental comes with fully equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with king beds.



The Space:

This unit is on the ground floor and is accessed from the outside via an open air walkway minimizing your contact with others.



One of the coolest and best-situated condos in the quaint, secluded community of Puako Beach. Filled with fashionable and comfortable furnishings, art and elegance this place is a great place to stay for your Hawaii vacation. The unit comes with fully equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Luxurious linens and towels. New high efficiency A/C units in Living Room and Master Bedroom. This condo sleeps up to 6 persons comfortably in 3 bedrooms include a King, Queen and (2) XL twin (80" in length) mattresses, combined. Also, ceiling fans in each room. The unit has very good Wifi speed and connections with its (ARRIS / TP-Link Mesh 3pk) mesh system (DL 250 MBPS / UL 25MBPS).



Puako is a quaint, secluded community. As you drive past the 1852 Hokuloa Church, you will immediately feel like you have stepped back to a more relaxed time in old Hawaii. Quiet and away from the crush of tourists, there are only 160 homes along the two miles of Puako Beach Drive. Our unit is one of the best situated of the 38 condos in Puako, with a ground floor location and a large private side lanai. We’re also conveniently located next door to the historic and friendly family-owned Puako General Store, where you can buy food, cold drinks, prepared meals, rent DVDs, and more. Guests can relax at the property pool and indulge in a BBQ grill for a prefect island retreat.



PLEASE NOTE: This unit has ONE dedicated parking stall. Please consider renting a larger vehicle to accommodate all of your party. There is NO street parking allowed for vacation rentals according to local regulations. A secondary parking stall within the designating building parking lot MAY be an option but cannot be guaranteed for the duration of your stay or designated until shortly before your arrival. IF and as available, the additional parking stall within the designating building parking lot will be assessed an additional, daily fee. Please inquire directly, shortly before your arrival, for further information and potential availability.



Please keep in mind that Guest is in a very small and peaceful residential neighborhood. Noise carries over quiet landscapes and near water. IBR asks that Guest and Guest’s children respect Property neighbors' privacy, peace and quiet between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Please refrain from using the lanais for conversations or viewing devices during quiet hours.

The Neighborhood:

Puako is still the only ocean front residential community along the Gold Coast/Kohala Coast of the Big Island nestled between the Mauna Lani Resort, Fairmont Orchid and Mauna Kea/Hapuna Resorts. Hapuna Beach State Park has earned the reputation of being one of Hawaii Island's finest beaches. It is the largest White Sands Beach on The Big Island and consistently rates on Top Ten lists internationally. Hapuna Beach offers some wonderful opportunities for swimming, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, sunbathing and snorkeling and is just a mile from Puako. You can even drive the back road to Hapuna Beach and not get on the Highway. Local shore fisherman can be seen daily enjoying the great reef fishing. Puako Beach Drive has no through access which keeps it virtually still undiscovered by many. There are six separate "beach" accesses along this stretch of beach. Although there is not a tremendous amount of sand, there are tide pools and the extensive protected reef is remarkable. During low tide, small pools dot the entire coastline and these pools are filled with small sea life that make excellent areas to explore for all ages. If you enjoy shore diving, kayaking and snorkeling you can find a spot along this stretch of shoreline to enter the water. Offshore the reef is home to a wide variety of fish and many days you will see dolphins playing right from the shore. Enjoy the Whales who return each year to mate and give birth in the tropical warm waters during the winter months.



Getting Around:

A car is recommended for getting around the area and enjoying all that Hawaii Island has on offer.

Wonderful stay. There was a tsunami warning and the host communicated the evacuation instructions and helped us get to a safe location - I greatly appreciated the genuine sense of concern for our safety. It was a very nice condo and very clean. Arlene was there when we got there and she has been so sweet and helpful. No problems at all. It was very well furnished and is a quiet area but there's a general store next door that has everything from prepared meals to excursions to rental equipment and groceries. There's a gnat issue for the whole area but she helped us control that also. I somehow misunderstood the proximity to the water but it was very close. Thank you Arlene for everything. Mahalo!!

*originally booked on the 2nd floor but due to a conflict moved to the 4th floor. We truly felt at home in this 3 bedroom, 2 full bath condo, situated in the amazing hamlet of Puako. Just steps from turtle lined beaches and amazing snorkeling reefs. There is a general store next door with pre-made meals, sandwiches, souvenirs, and beach supplies, but if you need to stock up, grocery stores are just a 10 minute drive. One of the most beautiful beaches, Hapuna Beach is just a 5 minute drive!! The unit itself was comfortable for 5 adults. Impeccably maintained and full of too many details to list. Some highlights: comfortable beds, nicely upgraded bathrooms, full kitchen with everything needed to cook nice meals, a spacious lanai (with a grill), and a nice family room to decompress after a long day. The washer/dryer was new and the best surprise: good quality boogie boards, snorkeling gear, 4 beach chairs, and an umbrella. Boy did that save us on the long beach days! The complex is shared with full time residence, so it is very well maintained and quiet. Parking is just steps away from the condo. Aloha!

This is a nice QUIET property. There is no AC, but the fans are more than adequate to keep the place/rooms cool. I would definitely recommend this place for a peaceful escape. The beach access is right across the street. Mahalo!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was convenient for things we wanted to do and away from the tourism of Kona. The condo was clean and quiet.
