Why visit Orosi? The Orosi Valley is a landscape of topical hues. The rainforest of Tapanti and the Alto Cedral Cloud Forest paint a background of various shades of green, teeming with wildlife. Every turn of the road provides a new diversity of colors and terrain. Located south of Cartago, the Orosi Valley is a true jewel. Famous for its beautiful views, colonial churches, coffee farm tours, white water rivers, hot springs and Lake Cachí, the Orosi Valley and surrounding towns are like a birthday present, waiting to be opened. The small quaint villages offer a unique location where you can relax and enjoy a real slice of Costa Rican life. During coffee picking season, September through January, the valley comes to life. The pickers can be heard singing and talking in the fields as they pick one of the worlds best coffee.

It is easy to book activities such as: guided local tours, mountain biking, horse back riding, hiking, water rafting, coffee farm and processing and other interesting activities to keep active during the day.

Orosi Valley Self Guided Tours
The Orosi Valley and surrounding areas have many different tours, which can take up to a week to see all of the local attractions. Of the top 20 things to do in Costa Rica, four are in or near the Orosi Valley, numbers six, seven, eight and nine.

The 'room' is an 18' x 24' open space with a 12' x 18' loft. Two twin beds upstairs with a private balcony. A King bed downstairs with a kitchenette. The space was elegant but not luxury. Simple but with character. The bathroom was a little small, but the water pressure was decent and the hot water was hot. But the real gem was the outdoor space. The hot tub was nice. The outdoor table and chairs were comfortable. But the view was perfection. We were half way up a mountain with an amazing view of the rainforest going down, and a full view of the rainforest going up the next mountain. We saw two different species of Tucans, parrots large and small, and dozens of other birds. The views were breathtaking. We woke up before sunrise every day to watch the valley wake up. These were the best moments of our trip. There are also trails winding all through the property. The flora on this property is amazing. Monstera leaves 3', birds of paradise 25' tall. Flowers everywhere. We came to Orosi to experience the rainforest, and this property gave us exactly what we came for. Steven and Nancy are the perfect hosts. They are onsite and welcomed us to visit, ask questions and gave us a wealth of information. But, allowed us our privacy and didn't intrude at all on our secluded experience. We are already planning our next trip to stay with them again.Thank you Steve and Nancy. You guys are wonderful.

The villa and the setting were magical! Stephen and his dogs were a great hosts and we had everything we needed. This villa is secluded and away from everything, away from people and places, so it’s the perfect setting for a quiet and relaxing vacation. The bird watching was top notch!

We love Paradise Peak. We first stayed in 2019 and have been wanting to return ever since and have recommended it to anyone who is considering traveling to Costa Rica. I cannot imagine coming to Costa Rica and not staying here. The hosts Steve and Nancy are absolutely amazing: kind, joyful, helpful, accomodating - they make you feel like you are coming home. Lily the dog is also very welcoming and loves back scratches and belly rubs. Paradise Peak is so beautiful, peaceful and private. Nancy's meticulously manicured paths and gardens are a pleasure to walk. Picking oranges for juice in the morning and lemons and limes for lemonade was a wonderful treat, like drinking liquid sunshine. It was easy to just sit on the deck and watch the clouds float by the lush mountains and to listen to, and watch all of the birds. The villa is very well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. There is a lovely soft breeze so there is never a need for air conditioning. The hot tub on the deck is also a lovely treat at the end of each day.You do need a car, but the towns of Paraiso and Orosi are close, and you can find everything you need. There are many terrific restaurants and sodas in Orosi. The Ujarras Ruins, and the chocolate tour at Nortico (near Turrialba), and Tapanti Park were highlight activities on this trip.If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, serene place to de-stress, recharge, enjoy nature and birding, this truly is Paradise.
