About this house rental

This is not just any holiday rental, Number 8 is a top notch , top quality home away from home. Number 8 is a period wine merchants house in the centre of the world famous and picture perfect village of Meursault in the heart of the Burgundy wine region. Built in 1870 and set over 3 floors, the newly renovated it is Ideally placed to visit the greatest vineyards on the planet, with the villages of Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, Pommard, Nuits St. Georges and Gevry Chambertin all within easy reach, Beaune is also only 5 minutes away. Number 8 is located in the heart of Meursault and a couple of minutes walk from the mairie and all the village amenities. The village of Meursault is lively with the bustle of wineries and has a wide range of bars and restaurants together with a bakery, hairdressers, beauticians, boutiques, wine shops, banks, a pharmacy, and a supermarket. The pretty central square is perfect for a coffee or an early evening aperitif and the range of restaurants cater for everything from fine dining to a simple “steak-frites”. The village also boasts a fabulous historically listed church with several services a week and a tourist office.

With 5 en-suite, fully air-conditioned bedrooms, Number 8 combines the elegance of 19th century architecture with 21st century amenities and is perfect for groups or couples looking for a luxurious self catered stay. With vintage touches, each room has been tastefully and professionally designed and decorated in keeping with the buildings’ history. There are 3 super king bedrooms, one king size room and a superking junior suite. Each room has its own designer ensuite bathroom, independent air-conditioning, hotel quality mattresses and linens to guarantee a good nights sleep and designer furnishings to complete the authentic luxury townhouse experience. You will not find flat packed furniture or grandmas cast off beds, Number 8 is probably the best home away from home holiday experience you will find.

Number 8 has a large kitchen/ breakfast room with a large 10 seater dining table and all the cooking amenities you could wish for. There is also a central island which seats 4. The kitchen is fully equipped with top quality cookware and has an inducton cooktop, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, American fridge freezer with ice maker and a washing machine and tumble dryer. The large salon has two large tweed sofas and armchairs along with a desk and leather trunks. There is a downstairs powder room as well.

Outside, guests can enjoy the sunshine in a pretty courtyard garden with tables and chairs - very typical of the village houses and the area. There is a BBQ for guest use.

Less than 5kms away is the very picturesque medieval town of Beaune with its famous Hospice and fabulous Saturday market. Here you will find everything from high end boutiques to the second highest concentrations of bars and restaurants per capita in France. Dijon is only 35 minutes away by car or train. Chablis is 1 hour from the property, Lyon is 1h20 and Paris is 3 hours. Mont Blanc can be seen on a clear day and the lower alpine slopes are a mere hour away. There is lots to see and do and plenty of fine wines to taste!
