The Neighborhood:
Located in the heart of Ontario, tucked away from the bustle of the big city but close enough to visit. Central to several mid-sized cities and halfway between Toronto and Ottawa, Bancroft offers the tranquility of the Canadian Shield with all the amenities of a modern community. Bancroft was built alongside the same York River that this house overlooks.
Getting Around:
Bancroft is a small town and many necessities are within walking distance however there's plenty of parking for multiple vehicles in the driveway.
Other Things to Note:
🔥 Fire Ban Notice
A Total Fire Ban is currently in effect. The use of the firepit is strictly prohibited at all times during this period. Violations may result in additional charges and penalties.
Although we provide the best WIFI possible in the area, the reliability cannot be guaranteed as it is provided by a third party company.
Note: Guests are recommended to bring their own wood for the woodturning stove.
We understand that accidents can happen during your stay, and we want to ensure that both you and the property are protected.
For your peace of mind, we offer two options:
1) Non-refundable Damage Waiver: For a small fee, this waiver covers accidental damages (up to $250) during your stay.
2) Refundable Safety Deposit: A credit card hold, that will be refunded upon a successful property inspection after your stay.
These options will be presented to you through our Guest App after booking.

We had a wonderful stay at Chico! I highly recommend going for a hike and doing some canoeing. It was like being in a cottage but with all the amenities of a house. The hosts were wonderful to deal with as well. Loved it!!

Rustic and very serene place. It was so quiet and peaceful. Fishing in the river provided results. Check-in was seamless. Kitchen could do with a restock. Great place!

It was clean and a nice spot on a shallow river. The driveway is horrible and we have a 4x4 truck thankfully and made it. The front door glass was all smashed and someone just taped it but chunks of glass were falling out inside and out when you used the door. The deck was covered in debris it could have been swept, the BBQ is a black top and not an actual BBQ. The place needs some upkeep it’s run down. It has an apartment attached (no one was there but odd) the beds are very low to the ground like sleeping on mattress on the floor. We paid 500.00 a night and feel this was way too much for the condition of this place. We sent a email the first day and had no reply. Since it was not an emergency we did not use the phone number just to complain but never did get a response. If you have dogs, a 4x4 and like sleeping on a mattress basically on the floor then you may enjoy this more.
