About this house rental

Welcome to The Willow Suite — a two-bedroom apartment tucked into the rear of a lovingly restored 1915 home in Ridgedale, one of Chattanooga’s most historic neighborhoods. You’ll have your own private entrance, and downtown is just 10 minutes away.

Built in the early 1900s, The Willow Suite has lived many lives: a boarding house, a halfway house, the offices of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and most recently a church. We fell in love with it and called it home for nearly three years. What you'll find is a space that honors its history while living beautifully in the present.
A note before you book: this is a 110-year-old house, not a hotel. The floors creak and the windows can be drafty in colder months. Heating and cooling run through a shared central system with supplemental window units in the bedrooms — comfortable, but not hotel-precise climate control. If you love authenticity and character, you'll love it here. If you need a flawless, standardized experience, this probably isn't your place.

MAIN LEVEL
Private rear entrance — climb three steps to the stoop and step directly into the kitchen
Fully equipped kitchen (and the most charming tile floor in the house)
Living area with cozy seating, a desk, and flat screen TV
Full bathroom stocked with complimentary Public Goods toiletries

UPSTAIRS — TWO BEDROOMS, SLEEPING SIX
First bedroom: queen bed and twin daybed with trundle — sleeps up to three
Second bedroom: queen bed
Both rooms: window units for heating and cooling, closets, windows with blinds and curtains
Memory foam mattresses and custom headboards in Turkish fabric
Vestibule between the bedrooms: full-length mirror, extra linens, water carafe, and commonly forgotten toiletry items

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, no pet fee
No fenced yard, but two small parks are within a few blocks
Dogs left alone in the unit must be crated
Pet blankets are provided — please use them on the furniture

BOOKING THE WHOLE HOUSE
Willow Front, our three-bedroom companion home at the front of this same house, can be booked alongside this listing
Combined: five bedrooms, 3.5 baths, two fully equipped kitchens, completely separate entrances and living spaces
Ideal for multigenerational travel, two families, or groups who want proximity without sharing a living room

GUEST ACCESS
Climb 3 steps to enter the rear stoop, where you'll find the guest door with a door lock keypad. This entry is at the rear of the house nearest to the alley. Your unique code will be sent before arrival.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
We live just a few blocks away and love meeting our guests. As a former Rotary Exchange Student, I've long believed that travel is one of the best ways to build connection and goodwill between people, and hosting is our small contribution to that.

Whether you have a question about the house, need a local recommendation, or just want to say hello, don't hesitate to reach out.

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE
One bathroom serves the full suite — mornings go smoother with a plan if you're a group of four or more
No laundry access for standard stays; ask about longer visits
No smoking, house parties, or loud gatherings on the property
Minimum booking age is 25
Security camera and motion light overlook the rear parking area
Properly zoned and permitted by the City of Chattanooga as a Short-Term Rental

Ridgedale is a historic neighborhood in transition. It has genuine character and a strong sense of community, but guests looking for a polished or upscale streetscape may find it doesn't quite match that expectation. We love its authenticity, and we want you to arrive with an accurate picture of the area. The suite sits on a main arterial road — some street noise is noticeable, particularly at night.

The house has two apartments with separate entrances. You will not share interior space with other guests. Please be mindful of noise — the other unit may be occupied, and pets are welcome on both sides, so you may have neighbors of the four-legged variety as well.

Two off-street parking spaces are available via the alley behind the house. Additional street parking is available along Chamberlain Avenue around the corner.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at no additional fee. If you leave your dog alone in the unit, it must be crated. Pet blankets are provided in the living room; please use them to cover the furniture when your dog is on the couch.
We live nearby and are attentive hosts who take noise complaints seriously.
No laundry access for standard stays; accommodations can be arranged for longer visits — just ask.
No smoking, house parties, or loud gatherings on the property. Minimum booking age is 25.
A security camera and motion light overlook the parking area at the rear of the house.

Highly recommend this home! It was very convenient for us as we were visiting Redemption To The Nations Church for thier Wild Ones Conference. Cozy and Clean. We will definitely plan to stay here again!

The rental was very clean on the interior. It is a great kitchen. Bed was soft and comfortable. The curb appeal is a D minus. Trash cans, weeds around the patio and picnic table, and frequent noise/sirens were bothersome. Being a single female, and finding out that the owners were not in residence as advertised, I felt less than safe in this neighborhood.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The hosts were kind, easy to communicate with, and made sure we had what we needed. The house is very spacious—especially the kitchen, which was well stocked with everything we needed for meals. We also loved having both an upstairs and downstairs. It gave us space to unwind after the kids went to bed and to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the morning before they woke up.There are a few things future guests might want to know. There’s only one bathroom downstairs, which made nighttime trips a bit inconvenient. The home is pet-friendly, which is great, but you could tell—one of the blankets had some cat hair on it, and the couch had a noticeable smell that made it harder to use. We also didn’t realize before booking that it’s a shared house. The hosts stay on their side, and while they were respectful of our privacy, the thermostat is on their side as well. They were very responsive when we asked for temperature changes, but it would’ve been nice to have that control ourselves, especially late at night or early in the morning. The two upstairs bedrooms have window units that kept things cool once we figured them out, though they can cut in and out a bit. The location is convenient—close to downtown and the interstate—and there are a few great playgrounds and a coffee shop within walking distance. Just be aware that the house sits on a busy corner near a light, so traffic noise (including fire trucks) can be loud at times. The hosts thoughtful
