About this house rental
"Birchfield" is a large Victorian house with four bedrooms, all en-suite (three have king- sized beds and the smallest room has twin beds). Downstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen/diner and a separate lounge. Our properties are just outside the the city walls in an ideal location for visiting all York has to offer and a easy walk from the train station or to the racecourse. They are two minutes walk from the popular 'Bishy Road' with its independent shops and cafes and from there it is a short stroll across Skeldergate Bridge on the River Ouse into the historic city centre.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful house on our recent trip to York. It was the perfect size for our group of eight adults, with plenty of space and lovely décor throughout. The whole place was spotless, and the added touch of Christmas decorations made it feel extra special.I had contact with the host before and after our stay, and they were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and always quick to reply — which made the whole experience even smoother.We were able to find on-street parking just around the corner, which was really convenient. The downstairs toilet was also a big help, especially as one of our group has mobility issues.The location couldn’t be better – just a 10–15 minute walk into the centre of York, with pubs and shops even closer. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked again for next year!

Property exactly as described, couldnt fault it. All bedrooms en suite (1 with a bath) and added bonus of a toilet downstairs. It had everything we needed and the Christmas trees and decorations were a really nice touch. Owners really friendly, responsive and very helpful and check in and out was really smooth. Great location as only 20/25 min leisurely walk to York Minster and 20 mins to The Shambles and 15 min walk from the station. Thoroughly recommended for anyone staying in York. Would definitively go back and 5 stars all round 😁
