The Neighborhood:
Few places bustle like Battersea these days, with top-notch restaurants, bars and boozers bringing 'em in from far and wide. The Battersea Arts Centre continues to showcase some of the best in the business, and the zoo and the park are great for kids (and kids within). The Pump House Gallery is as good as ever and then there's the heliport, with choppers taking you for some seriously impressive views across our fair city.

Battersea has plenty of shops and restaurants — close to Clapham Junction, up St John’s Road, continuing along Northcote Road and up the hill from the junction along Lavender Hill and Battersea Rise. There is a Peter Jones department store on Sloane Square.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s London House restaurant in Battersea Square has brought fine dining to the area. Other local eateries include Soif, a French bistro and wine bar in Battersea Rise, part of the Terroirs group, which has pioneered natural and organic wines; Boqueria Market, a tapas bar in Queenstown Road; the eccentric Fish in a Tie Mediterranean restaurant in Falcon Road, and two imports from Brixton Village — sourdough pizza restaurant Franco Manca in Northcote Road, and KaoSarn, a Thai restaurant in St John’s Hill.

Getting Around:
The apartment is under 5 minutes walk from Battersea Park Station. Queenstown Station is also under a 10 minute walk away.

There are plenty of buses leaving from nearby stops that will take you all over London. The 137 and 452 bus stop is just 2 mins away and reaches Sloane Square/Kings Road in 10mins.

There are also Santander Bike Stations surrounding the property if you feel like a cycle around the city. Check out the TFL Santander Cycles website for locations and information.

So we overall enjoyed the location, the ease to access the property and the communication with details were great. The apartment itself was very musky but I assume this is because of the age of the building. Not a big deal but something you first notice when entering. The hot water stopped working and we had to call the support number. While talking with the first agent we became disconnected, I called back and the 2nd agent I got was more helpful and knew more how to assist me. It was a little uncomfortable having to get directions how to fix the issue myself by adjusting things on the hot water unit but I did get it fixed eventually. I could imagine if someone was not mechanically inclined it would be difficult for sure. The french doors that open in the bedroom, the bottom lock was jammed and turning the key did not open it. The previous person that stayed there did look to have bent the key, I did bend it back as best I could. I found that the slide bar was in need of some lubricant which is why the spring did not open it when turning the key. The top one opened no issues, but the bottom not at all. Being mechanically inclined I was able to use a pair of pliers to pull it up and turn the key at the same time to open the door. This should be addressed as this will lead to someone breaking the key eventually. The back patio was very dirty and some of the paint and concrete was crumbling off. maybe missed by cleaning crew? I have more but am out of space.................

Pros: PERFECT location&Comfortable Bed Cons: Heating&Hot Water did not work until the last night of our stay (cold here now). Owner just repeated the same instructions, expecting us to do repairs on our own, rather than sending someone to properly service the boiler. The “simple” fix involved climbing on kitchen counters to remove the front of the unit since it was stuck ¬ “easily” removed, &poking around with gas& electrical when we are not professionals. We had a busy schedule while here, leaving daily at 7am, returning after 10pm; leaving us to handle these repairs late in the evening when we should have been able to rest. Then waiting for the next day for more fix instructions to be emailed. The result was 3 freezing nights of no heating &cold showers. Cleanliness- multiple stains on couch and throughout the carpet of the apartment, felt rather dingy. Mold in the shower up in the ceiling area. Shower does not drain properly, leaving you standing in freezing ankle deep water while trying to shower. Shower curtain doesn’t have a proper liner, so water just soaks it… releasing a musty smell. Electric kettle has not been cleaned in some time and has deposits growing on/in it. There was approximately 1cm of water sitting in the pot when we arrived w/debris floating in the water. Toaster & French press were also dirty. Listing claims there’s a fireplace for heating, but it’s not in working condition. Only two very partial rolls of TP provided, so we had to buy more.
