About this villa rental
Star Fish House is a splendid Villa which faces the sun and the sea. It sleeps 4-5 people.
From Star Fish House you will enjoy a thrilling view of the sea, of the coast of Amalfi and of the gulf of Salerno far in the horizon. Star Fish House is 75 square meters (810 square feet).
It features two gorgeous private terraces with a view of the sea and of the coastline, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 2 km (1.2 miles) from the center of Amalfi, where you will find restaurants, shops, public transportation, the beach and the tourist port.
You will find the stop for the SITA bus Amalfi - Salerno line at 20 meters (65 feet) and the closest beach (Castiglione di Ravello beach) at 1.3 km (roughly 0.8 mile) including 200 stairway steps (other beaches with less steps to climb are also available in the area).
You will reach Star Fish House from the street level going up a private walkway that cuts through a garden and includes approximately 50 stairway steps.
You will not need a car to stay at Star Fish House. If you do have one, you will be able to park it at approximately 150 meters (165 yards), for a fee, in a parking space.
The parking space is suitable for at most one small car (the size of a Fiat Punto or smaller). Private parking must be reserved ahead of time; we kindly ask you to let our staff know, so that we can make the necessary arrangements for you.
The perfume of the carob and myrtle trees, the lemon and ancient olive groves, the heavy branches of lilac wisteria, the wild rosemary and an unforgettable view as far as the eye can see.

We loved it here! It was very comfortable and relaxing, the view is amazing, and we found everything we needed to cook simple meals. In addition, Peter was excellent at keeping in touch, responding to our texts, and being accomidating.We had great trips to Positono (via ferry - highly recommended), Ravello (bus), and walked to Amalfi, Minori, and Miori (via the Lemon Path). Be ready for lot of elevation changes!You should know that Starfish is 2.2 km from Amalfi, and 1.5 km from Minori. We walked most of the time - it is a very narrow road that is usually busy with traffic. The alternative is taking a taxi which cost us between 40-60 Euros per trip, or the bus. Getting there: the most cost effective would be the bus, but there can be traffic jams... I recommend the ferry to Minori.Re transportation: We had a bad experience with Amalfi Porters, so we ended up getting cards and quotes from several taxi drivers. In the end, we were very happy with Maurizio Dipino - great communication, reliable, and resonable price (see photos of both). Buses are very cheap (1.50 Euro per local ride), and the timing is dependable leaving Amalfi (heading east). Heading west, we found the buses to be hit and miss. Bus was great to get to Ravello.Re traffic: Starfish directly above the main road (though you can't really see the road), and on a curve (the busses honk). We found the traffic noise to be part of the experience, but if you want quiet, this might not be for you.

Highly recommended! Trip of a lifetime! 4 of us stayed at Starfish House for a wedding in Ravello and it couldn't have worked out better. Peter, our host arranged for transportation anywhere we wanted to go and also prepared a 5 course meal for us on the beautiful patio. All amenities were fabulous and we cant say enough about our wonderful host Peter! The views are amazing and we cant wait to come back!

We cannot recommend Star Fish House highly enough. It is a quaint, beautiful house with amazing views. Waking up every morning to the sunrise over the Mediterranean will change you for the better. An easy walk to Minori, markets, bus stops and ferries makes Star Fish House an ideal way to experience and enjoy the Amalfi Coast. And the host, Peter, is incredible. He helped us with many arrangements and went out of his way to make sure our stay was wonderful. We will be back.

This house has a wonderful view and a charming patio. Peter was very helpful. We loved the location but it is a 20 minute walk or a 20 euro taxi ride to the closest town. There was also quite a bit of road noise because it is directly above the main road on a very sharp curve so the buses and cars often honk for safety. Also, we were very disappointed in the parking situation. In our rental agreement it was written that parking would be €20 a day and the car would be 50 meters from the house. This was not the case at all. Peter charged us €45 a day and the car was nowhere near the house. We had to call 45 minutes in advance to get the car. When we were leaving, they brought the car and left it on the side of the road below the house with the keys in it. Peter did agree to refund us the difference between what we have agreed to pay for parking and what we had paid (75 euros total) but he has not done so after repeated requests.
This is a lovely property and we enjoyed our visit, but future renters should be aware of these issues.
