An ode to the beauty of the Amalfi Coast, Villa Grá is a stunning interior-designed holiday home with panoramic views over the sparkling Tyrrhenian sea. The name of this very special villa is taken from the Irish word for 'love', inspired by the roots of the Irish owner, and in its every corner this home shows love for its enchanting surroundings.
This stunning villa, with direct vistas over the bay and the local church belltower from many of the rooms, terrace and fruit tree-shaded garden, has just been fully restored to an exceptional standard. Hand-painted floor tiles in a typical Amalfi Coast pattern, bespoke paint colours, a hand-made kitchen and bespoke bathrooms with specialist finishes elevate the interior to a luxurious level, while honouring the crafts and landscape of the local area.
Painstakingly sourced antique and mid-century furniture and decorative pieces, from etched Murano glass pendants to beautifully restored Deco armchairs and original artworks bring a quality and attention to detail rarely found in homes available to rent.
The villa is organised over one floor:
• Raised Garden with sea view, shady fruit trees and sun beds & snooze chairs
• Large terrace with direct vistas over the sea and the local church belltower
• Dining Room opens onto terrace with dining table
• Charming living room with sofa, armchairs and TV
• Hand-made fully-equipped kitchen
• 1 double bedroom (bed size 160x200) with access to the main terrace
• 1 double bedroom (bed size 180x200) with infinity view of the sea
• 2 bespoke bathrooms, both with showers, 1 ensuite to master bedroom
Villa Grà is located in the heart of Praiano east side, off one of the typical small paths of the town. The villa is about 25 minutes' walk from La Praia beach, where the best fish restaurants are to be found. To reach the villa, guests will follow a path of about 200 metres, with about 40 steps. A porter service can be arranged (extra cost). The nearest private car park is about 300 metres away (local parking fees are charged).
Within walking distance are:
• Several restaurants (Moressa, Kasai, M'ama...)
• Grocery store/delicassen and butcher
• Local bus stop - about 50 metres away
• Sita bus stop - about 500 metres away
• Praiano main beach, La Praia (25 minutes on foot)

Villa Grà was the perfect place to home-base for our week on the Amalfi coast. The villa is located more-or-less in the center of Praiano, countless stairs above the waterfront and seemingly equally countless stairs below the Path of Gods trail, but within walking distance of numerous great restaurants and trails. The view from the main bedroom, yard, and large patio is breathtaking. The villa is creatively decorated, and well furnished and maintained. While there were only two of us staying there, there was plenty of room for another couple. We ensured we witnessed the spectacular sunrises from the patiodining table each morning and enjoyed winding down on the patio each night, listening to the sounds of the town and the nearby church bells marking time. Our host, Fransesco, was super helpful, offering suggestions and arranging transportation when we needed it. We could not be more pleased with Villa Grà and the SMAAC team.

Attractive well equipped apartment in a residential area near the top of the town of Praiano with plenty of space to sit out and good sea views. Praiano suited us well as it is quieter than its nearby neighbour, Positano, but still has great views, is attractive and has lots of lovely friendly good restaurants and bars within walking distance ( albeit uphill home). A local bus service operates from the bottom of the steps up to the property which helped in getting around and there is also a small grocery store close by. SMAAC who manage the property provided an amazing very useful digital information pack and can arrange boat trips and transfers etc. They were very responsive to any queries.

We just returned from a lovely visit to Villa Gra and recommend it highly. The SMAAC website provides a wealth of information which is enormously helpful prior to departure and throughout the stay. Praiano is a gem away from the hubbub of Positano and Amalfi, with a handful of very good restaurants nearby. There are 40-50 very manageable, gradual steps to reach the Villa. The villa’s setting is very peaceful and the view of the coast from the terrace and from the master bedroom is spectacular.
The villa decoration is exceptional with Murano light fixtures throughout, and with furnishings in the colors and style of the region. The equipment is state of the art, and in fact we had to read the manuals provided to address an error message on the AC and unlock the cooktop. Both Francesco and Rosa in the SMAAC office were very quick to respond.
We used the villa as a base camp from which we hiked the Path of the Gods, and ventured over to Amalfi for the day. The family and dog in the adjacent property are a little noisy on occasion but as we were away much of the time, it was manageable and on one occasion SMAAC kindly phoned them.
SMAAC was very helpful in arranging transport to/from the Villa to Naples. We give SMAAC very high marks for its professionalism and responsiveness, and recommend the Villa for an enjoyable stay.
