About this house rental
Vacation rental Chez Mimie, located in Breitenback, near Munster. Independent house located at a 580 m altitude, at the town's exit, bordered by pines. The house has unobstructed view and it is ideal for hikers and nature enthusiasts. All the conveniences are nearby. It was named a city for the first time in the XVIIIth century. The name of the town is due to its location at the exit of the Breitenbach valley, on the right side of the Fecht River. On the XIXth century a textile factory and a brewery where created. Nowadays, the industrial activity is dominated by the production of batteries. The Munster valley is considered one of the most beautiful in the Vosges region.

Its Museums: Dr. Albert Schweitzer's home is one of Alsace's emblems.
Kaysersberg: His hometown. Albert Schweitzer was born on January 14th, 1875.
Gunsbach: His house, his archives.
Strasbourg: Student, then teacher. Albert Schweitzer spent twenty years in Strasbourg.
Lambaréné: His work, his life.
Schlitte-museum and the wood crafts: (Mulhbach).
The Saboterie Haberlé: Demonstration of how clogs are made.

And welcome to the Montagne des Singes where you will live a close experience with this interesting species
Events: From November 30th to December 31st discover the traditional Christmas markets.
The Christmas market at Munster, named Brédlamarik, hosts 27 exhibitors who offer much more than cakes, but also bring their crafts and their Christmas goods.
You can also visit the Cité du Train (Mulhouse), the French railway museum. And to conclude, you can go to the famous stork reintroduction centre in Alsace at the Munster Valley.

An incredibly well-equipped holiday home in a wonderful location. The owners greeted us on arrival and carefully explained all aspects of the property. It had everything you could need and was wonderfully clean and beautifully decorated. The garden reached up the hill and enabled us to watch deer from the patio on several occasions throughout the week.
Nearby Munster is a lovely town with a good selection of restaurants, our preferred choice being "Dolce Vita". In the evening the Storks gliding in to roost on top of the Church were a spectacular site.
The area was great for cycling / mountain biking, particularly if you like the challenge of long steep climbs up the "Ballons". Bike hire can be arranged from Formanature in Munster.
There are so many attractions in the general area that we could have easily stayed another week. Our favourite place to visit was the Centre de Réintroduction at Hunawihr.
