This home hits all the marks with 10' ceilings throughout, a huge gourmet kitchen on the first floor, gas cooktop, freestanding icemaker, Keurig coffee maker and fully stocked for all your cooking needs. This home sleeps 34 with 7 king bedrooms with private bath in each & a bunkroom on each floor (sleeps 8 in each bunk room) and plenty of room for large family gatherings, weddings or family reunions.

The house was beautiful! It had everything you needed to cook. The 2 dishwashers was definitely a plus. The pool was fabulous. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We have been to Gulf Shores 6 times through the years and stayed at 6 different locations starting with condos and ending up with houses to meet the accommodations of our growing family. By far Porters Mark was the best of all. Our hosts were great. Even had the pleasure of meeting the pleasure of meeting the owner. They answered all our questions and were a pleasure to work with. The rooms were spacious. The kitchen was large enough for multiple people to help prepare meals. The outside grill/ kitchen was a great feature. Can’t say enough good about the pool, the shallow end under the deck was perfect for the young children. Great location between the two public beach accesses so the beach wasn’t crowded at all. Loved it. We plan on staying there in the future.

Let's just start off by saying I'm not one to leave a poor review. I don't like being "that" guy, but thought it necessary to leave an honest review for potential future guests.
Good: Traveled to the beach with friends and family as a group of 24. The location and the home were great. Plenty of space, clean, and on the beach, so no complaints there.
Bad:
1. The owner/host lives on the 3rd floor. This is the first time I've ever rented a VRBO where the owner lives in the property. Mark and his wife Kate were polite/friendly, but he was around and a member of my family saw his snooping through our trash on two separate occasions.
2. The hot water heater wasn't big enough to accommodate hot showers for everyone. I never personally experienced a cold shower, but some of my family mentioned that they had to take a cold shower sporadically.
3. Not nearly enough necessities for a stay. When we arrived, there wasn't any extra toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dishwashing detergent and only 1 laundry pod above each washer, which is meant to start a load of towels before checking out. Not a huge deal, but be prepared to go to the grocery store upon arrival to stock the home with basic supplies.
4. No rails in shower for handicap accessibility. We traveled with multiple generations of family and the showers didn't have hand rails, which I believe, was in the description.
5. The grill area needs a major updating. Probably the worst grill I've ever used. We cooked nightly, but a few of the knobs were seized and barely turned, and it appeared to have never been cleaned. It definitely looked like it was a nice area once upon a time, but definitely could use some love.
6. Two of the showers in the home gave us trouble. One leaked from the second floor bunk room into the tub below on the first floor.
7. Cameras in the pool area. I assume it's for liability reasons, but still not super comfortable with the lack of privacy.
8. Lack of kitchen supplies. Be prepared to run multiple loads of dishes per day. The home wasn't stocked for the amount of people the home claims it's capable of accommodating.
Overall:
Again, it was a great home as far as size and location. It was disappointing not having privacy from the owner and seeing him as often as we did. Also disappointing not having basic necessities and having to run to the store immediately to stock the home.
Final verdict: Would look elsewhere when booking for next time.
