About this house rental
This barn was completely restored in 2008 and became a large loft of 90 m² American kitchen fridge-freezer, gas stove with microwave, coffee maker kettle, toaster, 1 bed 160, 1 bed 90, 1 baby bed on request 1 sofas, 2 TV chairs, wifi per box. Bed and bathroom linen at no extra charge and beds made, shower room, WC.

Depending on the season, we will share with you garden vegetables, aromatic plants or clams caught in Gois.
You will benefit from a large area of greenery and pine forest not overlooked for your barbecue and relaxing afternoon.
We are on an old island 'Boisseau Island', today a village of a hundred souls and a few cows, donkeys, sheep, ducks. You can observe many birds there. The village is located 4 km from the village of St Gervais and 5 km from Beauvoir-sur-mer.
You will find 2 super markets and all the amenities of a small coastal town
Beauvoir sur mer is connected to the Noirmoutier island by the passage of Gois (4km submersible causeway), a phenomenon unique in Europe which attracts many visitors especially for high tides as well as the rising tide race (Foulées du Gois) in June.
The departure of the boat for the island of Yeu is at the Barre de Monts crossing 30 'for a nice day of bike ride.

The superb beach of St Jean de Monts is only 18 km lively in July August casino, talasso etc.
Les Sables d Olonne and its Vendée-globe (mythical race around the world without assistance)
Vendée benefits from 220 km of coastline and the hinterland is rich with typical villages and cultural and festive activities:
ecomuseum of the Vendée marsh 'Daviaud'
1900 fairs in Challans on summer Thursdays
Sallertaine artists' village with its mill in activity and its canoe trips in the neighboring marshes.

It was a bit tricky to find but the gite was lovely - one large, spacious room except for a tiny shower. Well maintained except for a bit of a problem with drains ( a bit smelly). We were a bit unlucky because the owners were away on holiday. I think a few small issues would have been dealt with had they been on site.

The studio is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We really enjoyed our week staying here. Yvette and Daniel are lovely hosts and took us on a tour of the locality when we arrived in their vintage Jaguar. We enjoyed Yvette's homemade jam and her homegrown herbs.
The washing machine did not work when we arrived but was replaced with a new one the following day.
The only negative comment we would make is that the shower cubicle is rather compact; luckily we are fairly small so it was not a problem for us!
It is an excellent area for cycling and the location is convenient for visiting the Ile de Noirmoutier, L'Ile d'Yeu and the resorts of the Vendee coast.
We enjoyed an excellent meal at La Pit'chounette in the nearby village of Saint-Gervais, including tasting some of the 28 cheeses on their cheeseboard!
