About this cottage rental

Betty's is a beautifully presented Cornish cottage built in the mid 1800s.
Our newly renovated cottage is well equipped and furnished with much thought for your comfort and relaxation. The 2 bedrooms are furnished with a kingsize bed in the master bedroom and 2 single beds in bedroom 2, cleverly arranged to maximize the space, that along with a double sofa bed in the lounge provide flexible sleeping arrangements.
We hope to inspire a restful ambiance from where you can unwind. It is a perfect place for small families and couples alike.
Wander from your door to the harbour front with its plethora of artisan cafes and shops. You can enjoy the luxury and convenience of the location, as you are a 5 minute stroll to the harbour and just a short distance away from the stunning and child friendly Porthminster beach, Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beach along with the Tate Gallery which are all within easy walking distance.
Betty's Cottage is the ideal holiday retreat from where to discover the wonderful St Ives and beyond for your Cornish adventure.

Betty's is a beautifully presented Cornish cottage built in the mid 1800s.

Very nice vacation accommodation where we lacked for nothing. The parking space that comes with it is worth its weight in gold in St Ives. For those who prefer to travel by public transport, buses stop right outside the door or are a 5-minute walk away, as is the train to St Est. The location is also phenomenal. The city center is just around the corner, and all the beaches are within walking distance. Thank you very much, also for the uncomplicated communication with the nice landlords.

This was our second stay at Bettys Cottage and our 25th Wedding Anniversary. It was wonderful! The cottage has everything you need, it’s a quick walk to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants.We both highly recommend this beautiful home and can’t wait to book our third stay

We arrived and found the door keys had not been left in the key safe. The owner acted quickly and got the cleaner to bring keys. We waited around an hour-getting dark and temperature dropping so not a comfortable wait.The boiler packed up Friday morning and no one came to repair it. So no hot water or central heating from Friday morning until Saturday morning when we left at 10.00a.m. We saw rats in the back area. The window at one end in the ktchen meant we could see rats running across the wall ledge around 5ft from the window 6 days of the 7 we stayed there, it was clearly a rat run. we saw 6/7 rats every day. I would have expected some compensation.

Perfectly located cottage close to the harbour in St Ives. Restaurants, galleries, shops and beaches all an easy walk away. The cottage was clean and comfortable although perhaps a little chilly in January. It is also not designed for large people as the shower is tiny and the ceilings are low in places. A useful addition would be reading lamps in the main bedroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay in beautiful St Ives

We really enjoyed our stay at Betty's Cottage. We did have some challenges getting the code for the key box which was more Expedia's app vs the hosts. The place is really comfortable and cosy with everything you would need. Only thing we had to get was loo roll as they didn't have any after we used the half a roll that was there.

The cottage has all the facilities you need it was beautiful. The location is fantastic, a stroll from the centre where your spoilt for choice to eat/drink looking over the harbour…if it’s a beach you want then Porthgwidden and Porthminster are both short walks and perfect for everyone, my 3 year old grandson had the best time.

The property is a small beach cottage that is perfect for a couple or a couple with 1-2 small kids. Walkable to center of town with co-op grocery and laundry facility less than 5 min away. Parking space is nearby and situated such that it is easy to use your car to explore Cornwall. Only thing I would say is that shower is small and ceilings low so this place would feel tight if you are a large person and some of the layout is a bit tricky if you were older and less sure footed. Hosts are experienced and check/check out is easy and they have instructions for everything.

Lovely property- private parking was a good benefit. Listing says it sleeps 4 with 1 queen size bed (which was lovely- I slept like a log) and 2 bunk beds. Just be aware that the top bunk bed is small - we didn’t need it as there were only 2 of us, but it would really only be big enough for a small child. We had a fabulous time - the cottage is perfectly located just 5 minutes walk to the beaches and less than 1 minute to the nearest pub! What more do you need 😀

Although it is compact, it comfortably accommodated two of us with a bright living space and its location close to the waterfront. We have stayed in many places in St Ives and this was one of the nicest. It had all the facilities that we needed and more, the decor was beautiful and the cottage was immaculate. On approach to the cottage I was dismayed to see the gutters overflowing with weeds etc. This, I thought, does not bode well. However, the inside was nice and jolly with plenty of seaside themed pictures and assorted sculptures. The furnishings were in very good order, and the variety of lighting options good. The dining table had bench seats - fine for breakfast but not too relaxing of an evening. The beds are comfortable - one large double, two singles in a bunk style. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The bathroom has a nice bath, but the shower is tiny; the water though was good and hot. A problem we find in most lets, as in this one, is a lack of shelf space in the bathroom, and there is space for some tiered racks in the corners. Nice towels. No shower gel. The kitchen had only six mugs. There was no washing up liquid and no dishwasher tablets, not things we carry with us or would buy on a short break. Betty's Cottage, although beside a road, is in an excellent position being close to everything you will need - beach, shops, bus stop, taxis, cinema, pubs and restaurants. We thought it in need of a little TLC to bring it back to the five star cottage we're sure it once was, but nevertheless a nice place to stay.

This was a lovely cottage with everything I needed to be self sufficient while visiting St. Ives. The hosts were very responsive to my last minute questions about where to by groceries and how to access the cottage and secure parking. While the cottage is on a main road, the road noise was insignificant it was absolutely quiet overnight.
