The property itself is very lovely in its location, cleanliness, and provisions.What was unfortunate is the lack of description on each of the bedrooms. When I messaged Doug specifically about what the room locations were and type I feel as though I was misled. The family each needed their own bathroom and so that was the most important thing. Doug stated that the upstairs bedroom had an en suite bathroom. This is absolutely correct and accurate. What he did not say is that the upstairs bedroom is definitely not the primary bedroom, which you would assume automatically, but a walled in oversize closet. Approximately 6 1/2 feet wide by 9 feet long. you could barely get into the bed on one side and the bed was nailed to the wall so I couldn’t even move it to make it equal on each side for both people. Not only that.. there is not one single window in the bedroom. Not one. Talk about claustrophobia! There is a There is an antique dresser in the bedroom, which was wonderful since there was no room for suitcases. We promptly unpacked and left our suitcases in the living room.The doors, were closet doors that open out onto the area where the pictures show a pool table. The bathroom itself was fine. There was a very small stall shower, toilet and sink.The other bedrooms were all extremely lovely with lots of airy windows and pretty curtains.The view from the property is spectacular. So I would definitely recommend this if you did not need to use the upstairs bedroom as a bedroom.

Easy beach, pier, and town access. Lots of room for our group of 6 adults. The dog loved it, too! Kitchen supplies were great, and we felt very safe and comfortable staying at Gathering Place and love the casual vibe of Cayucos!

We had a wonderful stay at the Gathering Place. It is beautiful, comfortable, convenient to the beach and esthetic. It easily accommodated our family of 7 adults. Every morning we had our coffee on the huge, comfy couch in front of the picture-window, watching the waves roll in - or out on the upstairs porch enjoying the fresh air. Walking into town and to the beach was pure pleasure, and the wonderful, swooping swallows all nesting under the nearby bridge were mesmerizing. Everything you need for preparing meals has been thoughtfully provided. Thank you for letting our family stay in this lovely spot- if it's available, I would definitely rent this for our family on our next visit to Caycos.

We greatly enjoyed our time at this Cayucos house. The house was charming and so well stocked with all amenities for us. We were half adults and half teenagers so the location between beach, town, and wineries was perfect. Also an easy drive to CalPoly. Extra cuteness was the bunny keeping an eye on us.

This was by far the best VRBO house my family has experienced. The views were fantastic, everything we could possibly need was provided ( spices in the kitchen, kleenex, extra blankets, coffee makers WITH coffee and tea!). All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

This house os the perfect spot for a large group of friends or family. The owners are onsite,so all issues are always handles immediately. We had a great time on our family vacation. The house slept everyone comfortably and the extra blankets and pillows were a nice addition! Check in was easy and house is in the perfect location. It would be helpful to have the kitchen stocked with ziploc bags of different sizes and foil and Saran Wrap, since the house is so equipped for cooking in and hosting large meals. Other than that, it was perfect! Thanks!

We enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for my family (5 adults and 5 kids ages 11 to 3). The kids had fun playing in the fenced front yard, with the pool table upstairs on the main floor and at the Beach just across the street. The Kitchen was well stocked and the Dining Table had seating for all of us. The view of the ocean from the 2nd (main) floor was spectacular. The Property Manager was easy to contact and helpful.

This was our second time staying here and we will be back many more times. We love this property! The house has everything you need and feels like you are at home. The location is so convenient, close to everything and just across the street is the beach. The house is about 100 yards from a kids playground and the community pool. Doug, the owner is quick to reply and goes out of his way to help you. You would not regret ever staying here.

My family and close friends love this property. Our third stay did not disappoint. Located just across from the Cayucos pier, it is walking distance to great restaurants and shops. The house is beautiful, spacious, with privacy for many guests. We enjoyed the pool table, the views from the great room, and meals and games at the large dining room table. The property is meticulously maintained and the owner is very responsive and helpful. We can't wait to come back!

Doug’s house was wonderful! We were a group of 6 friends and there was more than enough space for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting up in the living room overlooking the beautiful pacific each and every day! Quick walk to restaurants and trails was also great. The beds were very comfortable too. The house was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean. It is a quick walk to town and an amazing little coffee shop/bakery around the corner with the friendliest owner/workers. The gas station on the corner has the cheapest gas. The 5 of us very much enjoyed our stay and I’m coming back next month with different group of friends.

We had a wonderful time. We had family come up from Southern California and we came from Northern California. Great place to meet. We had lots of fun playing games at the big dining table! Great location to see Hearst Castle, many beaches and the elephant seals. Lots of delicious restaurants within walking distance. The host is very gracious, too!!
