Capitol Hill Row Home: 1 Block to Metro and Groceries -- and has Garage!

The location is excellent! There is a full grocery store, good restaurant options and a Marta stop just within a few blocks.

Wonderful location. Nice house with comfortable beds and working ac! It was hot in DC that week Enough towels for the 4 of us. The dryer does make a lot of noise so I wouldn’t recommend using it at night. Other than that everything was lovely. I even left a pair of shoes there by mistake and the property manager sent them back right away I highly recommend this VRBO

Loved our stay on Capitol Hill! Amazing location - one block from the Metro stop that takes you to all the spots on the Mall within minutes and to Reagan National and one block from a Safeway that's open almost 24 hours. Good variety of restaurants within walking distance as well. Garage is a huge plus if you have a car (or even a truck, as we did), which helps with access to attractions further afield, like Mount Vernon and Air & Space at Dulles. Very-well stocked kitchen, large living/dining room, three good-sized bedrooms, and two sizable bathrooms. Plus a lovely garden/patio out back (which we didn't use given the heat wave). Our only less-than-positive comments relate primarily to the heat and the age of the home. It's hard to plan for 100 degree days, but they made one of the bedrooms uncomfortably warm, and the age of the house means fewer electrical outlets than you might find in a newer home. That said, the host provided the most amazing responses we've ever encountered when we made requests - a fan and window AC unit appeared the next day for the warm bedroom (before our guests arrived!), as did three extension cords that solved the availability of electricity. Overall, to house 6-8 people or 2-3 families, given DC prices, this is a great find!

We enjoyed our stay and the location is easy access to the metro and a Safeway, the kitchen is well appointed. The owner was terrific to work with and quickly resolved the issue we had with a shower head. The biggest downside was bathroom location. While both bathrooms have been nicely renovated the one downstairs is extremely tiny and narrow. The shower is big but getting up from the toilet will take skill if you are a larger person, and even using the sink you will likely bump against the wall. All bedrooms are upstairs and are roomy enough, but all could use higher quality linens and new mattresses. There are blinds on all the windows but the addition of blackout curtains would allow for better sleep. We felt safe enough in the neighborhood but grooming for the small yard has been neglected.
