Whether you are visiting for a vineyard wedding at nearby Veritas Vineyards, exploring the Route 151 brewery trail, hiking in Shenandoah National Park, or simply looking for a relaxing escape, Sweet Afton offers an unforgettable home base.
The cottage blends historic character with modern comfort, featuring updated kitchen appliances, central heating and air, high-speed 1 gig internet, and tasteful furnishings throughout. The spacious layout is filled with natural light and enhanced by 10-foot ceilings and large windows showcasing the surrounding landscape. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals, while the dining room comfortably seats six and features large bay windows with beautiful southwest-facing mountain views. The home includes two queen bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a cozy living room with a pull-out sofa, TV, desk, and seasonal gas fireplace.
Outdoor living is one of the highlights of Sweet Afton. Not only was the farmhouse super cute, the yard had the most amazing views of the mountains! The large fenced in yard was very private and our dog absolutely loved exploring it. 100% would stay again.

We stayed here for several days in June. It was overall a good experience. The hold farmhouse is in good condition. The yard is large, there is a lot of light through the windows, and there are views of the rolling fields and the mountains in the distance.

We had a great stay at sweet Afton house and bathroom remodel was a huge improvement. Our only complaint was grass needed mowed when we arrived. Contacted host upon arrival to request mowing as soon as possible. Host committed to Wednesay, two days after our arrival for a 4-night stay. Grass wasn't mowed until Thursday, the day before our departure. No communication from host to follow up on our concern. We love spending time outdoors with our dog, so playtime and clean up was difficult.
