The nearby beaches offer a variety of options, including sandy, pebble, concrete, and rocky beaches, catering to every taste and need. This area is one of the few where the coastline changes shape and character every few hundred meters and is rich in seaside vegetation, providing shade from the sun during the hottest hours of summer days. The area has been known to tourists for centuries for its healthy air thanks to the local pine forests, as well as for its nature and tranquility.
The beach is only 450 m away; the bakery, greengrocer, and bar are 800 m away; the nearest restaurant is 200 m away; and the gas station is 200 m away. The golf course is 4 km away, and tennis courts are 1 km away.
The center of Umag is 7 km away.
In the center of Umag, we recommend visiting the museum, aquarium, and cathedral. A walk along Umag's famous waterfront promenade ("Diga") is highly recommended. Explore the narrow and charming streets of Umag’s old town, visit the new square adorned with a fountain, shop in the town center, or browse the seaside stalls and playground that delight children.
For larger grocery shopping, we recommend driving a few kilometers to the bigger and more affordable supermarkets such as Lidl, Spar, Kaufland, or Plodine in Umag.
There are many leisure opportunities in the Umag area: tennis courts, the 18-hole Adriatic Golf Club, horse-riding centers, sports centers for water sports enthusiasts where you can enjoy water skiing, diving, boat rentals, an adventure park for children, and a mini-golf course at Jangalooz near the Sol Stella Maris tourist resort, as well as nightclubs, casinos, and various boat and coach excursions.
The area is rich in renowned restaurants, traditional eateries, pizzerias, fast-food venues, and bars. Those wishing to explore Istria will discover caves, ruins, numerous churches, museums, and impressive marinas.
For days away from the beach or enjoyable evenings, we recommend unforgettable excursions into the inland areas. The picturesque artists' village of Grožnjan boasts a beautiful terrace from which you can enjoy magnificent views over the Mirna River valley. Motovun is a typical medieval hilltop town, famous for its film festival held annually at the end of July. Livade is renowned for its white truffles found in the nearby forests. Astronomy enthusiasts who wish to admire the stars can visit the Višnjan Astronomical Centre, located 30 km from Umag, by appointment. Cave lovers should visit the wonderful Baredine Cave, just 15 km from Umag. Do not miss the opportunity to visit Hum, the smallest town in the world, located only 60 km from Umag. Also worth visiting are the coastal towns of Pula, Rovinj, and Poreč, as well as Brijuni National Park, which can also be visited through organized excursions. Various "Fish Picnic" boat trips are organized, featuring fish or meat picnics and offering the opportunity to visit Rovinj, Poreč, or Novigrad. Many tourists are also interested in the wonderful day trip to Venice by hydrofoil. For children's enjoyment, visit the Istralandia Water Park, 20 km from Umag, and the Funtana theme park "Dino Park," where fun is guaranteed for visitors of all ages. Food lovers can enjoy various tastings of excellent Istrian wines, cheeses, olive oil, traditional Istrian prosciutto, and much more.
